This act has been drafted over the past 3 years and in April and July respectively the undoctored act passed unanimously through the house of representatives and the senate judiciary committee.

As the act approaches the senate Blackstone, SESAC and Harry Fox put forward an ammendment to the MMA that will remove all control and transparency for the songwriters it is built to serve and protect.

This is incredibly important for songwriters.

You may think it doesn’t affect you but if the ammendment goes through these artists will have no control or transparency over their royalties from digital stream platforms. The MMA is also set to correct music copyright. The ammendment puts all of this in danger. You, an American songwriter, will be affected. Some of your favourite artists will be affected. If songwriters and producers cannot be paid properly, or at all as is happening under section 115, then they could ultimately cease to exist. The SESAC ammendment puts music in danger.

All the major music streaming platforms oppose this ammendment and you should too.

Here are 3 ways SONA (Songwriters Of North America) suggest you get involved

If you are a SESAC writer – please contact your favorite rep there and copy John Josephson (CEO) and anyone on the executive team (email template for SESAC is: first initial, last name @sesac.com) and ask them not to do this!  Tell them how important the passage of the MMA would be to your day-to-day survival as a songwriter, how it will mean a raise and how there is FINALLY unprecedented consensus around legislation that would fix a deeply broken system. Ask them: Does SESAC really want to go down in history as being the outliers responsible for blocking passage of this desperately needed legislation?

If you are a pro songwriter in ANY Performance Rights Organization (SESAC, ASCAP, BMI, GMR, PRS, etc), please help us bring what SESAC is doing out into the open by tweeting @sesac with the hashtag #SESACkillstheMMA

Are you a Texas songwriter?  Please call Senator Cruz’s office at 202-224-5922 and remind him that many of his Texas constituents are middle class songwriters whose small businesses will be hurt by his current proposal to amend the Music Modernization Act.

On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.

Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.

But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.

I’ve had a picnic scene in my head for a few days now - must have been inspired by @poplar459 fanfic “You’re Coming With Me”. Clothes and all that are probably not like in the story, but I couldn’t remember. 

I am trying to draw a bit more detailed scenes and more complex colouring - never stop practicing! :D

Okay, I think i have it now and i appreciate it.

I’ve just made a bet against my Dad that if this post gets 2 million notes then i can get a Puppy. [like the one underneath]

I didn’t realise how much 2 million was and i couldn’t take that number down now. It should look like 2,000,000 in the notes bar.

He’s convinced that this will never reach that number, and very confident about it so Let’s prove him wrong!! He thinks this will get about 25 notes beofre it’s left in the dust.

You don’t have to do it for me. But for the point and to prove him wrong. He has to pay and everything so let’s make him suffer with it!!
