Caitlin’s husband died six months ago, and she’s a little sad but dw we’ve got a shiny new love interest for her. Oh Iris’s fiancé died too, on the same day, in a rather violent and traumatic manner. Cisco’s powers were activated by him repeatedly reliving his own death. “When it rains I can still feel where you shot me with those arrows” said TWO WEEKS after his spine was snapped (<- said snapped spine incident also involved mass public humiliation and other injuries). THE PIPELINE. Oh, Caitlin’s love interest didn’t work out? He kidnapped her, killed her doppelgänger in front of her, and threatened to kill her and all of her friends? Jesse gets the same powers as the person who kidnapped her. Iris’s mom is actually alive but oh wait not anymore; this will never be brought up again. Barry’s mom was murdered four days after his birthday. “I watched you die, Barry. You kept dying, your heart kept stopping.” Barry got disintegrated trying to get his powers back, and everyone he loves saw this. Wally got disintegrated too btw, and then had to watch his mother die over and over in a time loop. Iris thinks she’s going to die for months and then someone sacrifices themself for her against her will. You can’t count the number of times all of these people have seen someone they care about in mortal danger. Barry manages to trace any and every horrible thing that happens back to his actions. “This was done TO ME.”
