Yes! I had a ton of fun writing Mephi in the fic because I wanted him to have a reason to be "soft Mephistopheles" and in the fic he genuinely misses Baalphegor, though there are lots of things he genuinely likes about Tav. (I like the thesis that a lot of devils want to have real, loving intimacy, but they can't love, so they never get this experience that they want)

I came across this tiktok from Ritzeldraws for Durgetash and I think the vibes fit him and Baalphegor pretty well.

That being said, I enjoyed putting in the complexity between how Meph feels about Tav vs how he felt about Baalphegor, and it was fun to contrast it with Raphael's desires which are more "I see this person and I want them and now they're mine" without the baggage and the history to contend with.

More of what's actually going on will trickle out in the next few chapters, as Raphael is not the most reliable narrator on his father's love life.
