it’s been talked to death but i just caaan’t get over how there’s something so tender about mack being in full captain mode and ordering everyone around, running his camp like the navy ect ect, and right as will shows up a switch is flipped and the act drops and suddenly he wants will to drive and choose where they eat and make all the little decisions for him. it’s either because will’s the only person there that mack doesn’t secretly think that he outranks in authority, or because mack’s authority has always been something he does, not something he is. so everyone else gets captain and will gets mack, and i think it’s relief and it’s trust and every ”you pick” is it’s own tiny confession
