oh this was cute!!! you had lofty's voice spot on as well and that's so hard to do with first person fics. i thought that was amazing, how lofty it was that his tone was sad and resigned rather than resentful of his parents.
i love how antithetical to lofty his parents are too, with this routine and neatly gelled hair - and there's lofty as a piece who can't quite fit into his parents' world like a grey chess piece, but when he's with his granny he's in a grey and cream chess set and he has a place!! i thought the dynamics were so lovely!!
i am concerned about ollie's gown in the winter trailer when he's hugging frieda if they've got some exit for james anderson under wraps and it involves The Great And Revered Neurosurgical Prodigy Gaskell™ (i say it like that but i actually find his character quite intriguing for the moment) trying to do his Neurosurgical Magic resulting in ollie dying im going to die myself none of this is confirmed by any means i just have an overactive imagination and a proclivity for concern
