Project Sway

So, we’ve been given the job of house sitting an old bungalow before it is taken down to make room for a couple of new additions to the housing market. We will only be in this place for a couple of months, but I have taken this opportunity (being the aspiring interior fanatic that I am) to turn it into my own little project and see if I can breathe some life back into the ol’ thing before it’s final demise. Oh, I should probably mention the small detail of our non-existent budget...

We humans are incredible craftsmen, it is amazing to think that we have created all that we have. But it’s becoming apparent that we have started to push our resources and overwhelm the world with more and more “stuff”. Recycling has been pushed even more and so the trend of ‘upcycling’ began. I love this idea that everything we need is already around us and all we need to do is look a little differently to bring about something new, without having to create waste or expend yet more of our currently finite resources. In ode to this thought, I am going to do what I can to show what can be done with a little bit of extra effort to reuse old/unwanted items and create something wonderfully new. I have never done anything like this before and I’m hoping (if I can pull it off!) that this may encourage others to challenge their creativity a little too.
