My name is Oliver/Silco. I use he/they pronouns and I am apart of a traumagenic DID system. I am an age slider, but my age usually sits at 25. I am bodily 20. The system is professionally diagnosed with all disorders we claim to have. S/BPD with high NPD traits. Also AUDHD.

Welcome! This is my little corner of Tumblr dedicated to systems of every origin. I created this blog with the hope of having a space where people can share their experiences, learn from one another, spread awareness, ask questions, find resources, and simply exist without feeling like they have to justify themselves. Whether you’re here to read, contribute, or just quietly follow along, I hope you feel comfortable here.

I barely have a DNI. Mostly anyone is welcome to interact as long as they’re participating in good faith and treating others with basic respect. For transparency, I’m pro-fiction (not darkship), pro-para (anti-contact), supportive of good-faith identities, supportive of well-researched self-diagnosis, and critical of radqueer ideology. I also believe psychiatry does more harm than good and support mad pride. I know not everyone who comes across this blog will agree with those views, and that’s okay. I don’t mind respectful disagreements or genuine discussions, including with anti-endogenic or anti-willogenic users, as long as everyone involved remains civil. However, I won’t tolerate harassment, personal attacks, bad-faith arguments, or asks that are only intended to provoke conflict. Those will simply be ignored or deleted.

I’ll mainly be posting educational content about non-traumagenic systems and plurality as a whole, along with resources, answers to asks, discussions about common misconceptions, and my thoughts on topics within the plural community. I also plan to respond to common anti-endogenic arguments when I think there’s value in having those conversations. My goal isn’t to argue with everyone who disagrees with me, but to encourage thoughtful discussion, provide information, and give people another perspective to consider.

I also want this to be a place where systems can share their stories, talk about their experiences, celebrate milestones, ask for advice, or vent if they need somewhere to be heard. Every system has a different journey, and I believe there’s value in listening to one another with empathy, even when our experiences don’t look the same.

If you send in a vent, please include any relevant content warnings at the beginning of your ask so I can keep the blog accessible for everyone. If you’d rather your message stay private and not be posted, just let me know and I’ll respect that. I also ask that you avoid naming or targeting specific individuals, since I’d rather not use this blog to encourage callout culture or unnecessary drama.

At the end of the day, I want this blog to be a positive, informative, and welcoming space where systems of all origins can feel comfortable participating. My hope is that people leave this blog knowing a little more than they did before, feeling a little less alone, or simply having had a pleasant interaction. Whether we agree on everything or not, I believe respectful conversations are far more productive than hostility, and that’s the kind of environment I want to encourage here.

My special interest is psychology but with a specific focus on plurality.

the pro endo comm has personally been nothing but kind to me and i’ve made some genuinely good friendships with people here

the idea that creating a headmate is inherently a tibetan buddhist practice or that doing so is automatically a form of cultural appropriation does not hold up historically or philosophically.

for one, the modern term “tulpa” is not the same thing as the original tibetan concept. it’s an anglicization of the tibetan word sprul pa, but its meaning changed significantly online. today, online communities use the word “tulpa” to describe an intentionally created headmate which is a modern concept that differs substantially from how sprul pa is understood in tibetan buddhism .

even if tibetan buddhism had been the first tradition to describe something similar, which itself is debatable, that wouldn’t mean it owns the general concept of plurality. no culture can claim ownership over something as broad as plurality, spirits, consciousness, meditation, or intentionally creating an internal identity. those are universal concepts that can arise independently across different cultures

secondly cultural appropriation also simply isn't "taking an idea" from another culture. it refers to adopting specific cultural or religious practices while stripping them of their context or using them in ways that disregard the people and traditions they come from. (The modern tulpamancy community has zero connection to Tibetan Buddhist traditions other than the vaguely similar name ((which isn't even how it's pronounced/spelled.))) there's a major difference between borrowing a broad concept and appropriating a specific religious practice

for example, traditions like louisiana voodoo contain initiatory rituals, specific spirits, symbols, offerings, ceremonies and teachings that are inseparable from the religion itself. those kind of practices can be appropriated because they’re culturally specific. but “creating a headmate” is far too broad to be treated as exclusive to any one culture.

the modern tulpamancy community is also largely self-developed. over the years, it has produced its own guides, terminology, techniques, theories, and practices through community experimentation rather than by reproducing tibetan buddhist teachings. while the community inherited the word "tulpa," modern tulpamancy is not simply practicing tibetan buddhism under another name. it has become its own distinct subculture with its own body of knowledge and methods

because of this history, many people within the community have questioned whether the word "tulpa" should be used at all. some feel the term inaccurately implies a direct connection to tibetan buddhism, while others dislike its association with western occultism and theosophy, particularly helena blavatsky and later esoteric writers who popularized the anglicized term in the west. because of this, some community members have adopted alternative terms such as "willogenic" to describe intentionally created headmates without invoking tibetan religious terminology.

it’s also important to distinguish tibetan buddhism from tantric practices. tibetan buddhism is generally not considered a closed religion, you don’t need initiation to become a buddhist or to study the buddhas teachings. however many tantra practices are restricted and traditionally require empowerment, instruction or initiation from a qualified teacher. those are not the same things as the concept of creating a headmate.

it’s just their sys origin isn’t due to trauma. they can still be traumatized
