whenever there’s a fair nearby he drags Sodapop with him and Sodapop takes Ponyboy and Pony boy takes Johnny and Dallas follows Johnny. It ends up as a group hang out 99% of the time. Two-bit is doing some random fucking side quest as a clown or some shit at the fair and joins them. Darry is at home with peace..

He loves getting to be an older brother to Ponyboy. He takes pride in the fact that he’s the first person Pony wants to comfort him, maybe even a little smug about it. He likes that Pony trusts him with things he would be shy about telling anyone else, asking him questions he wouldn’t ask Darry or any of the other guys. Ponyboy is his baby. He picks him up and swings him around like a rag doll, messes up his hair, tickles him awake in the morning. Soda loves being an older brother.

But Soda likes being a little brother too. He’s grateful every single day that he wasn’t the oldest. He couldn’t hold it down the way Darry does. He loves how Darry calls him little buddy and how he’s the only one who can usually make Darry laugh or is allowed to mess with him. He likes being able to go to Darry for stuff since he’s lived through his teenage years before too and usually has some good advice. He likes how he’s allowed to be the cry baby of the family, how he can be reckless and get into trouble every now and then because the stakes aren’t as high.

Reasons why I think this:

- she straight refuses to be near Bob when he’s drunk.

- she immediately sees through Johnny’s outside demeanor and clocks him as someone that isn’t dangerous without him saying much more than “hello”, despite him being a greaser.

-She looks pony dead in the eyes and says “things are rough all over” like she’s trying to say something without saying it.

-She can’t stand fights to the point of willingly getting in the car with a drunk driver to stop one from happening. (She was fed up with violence even BEFORE Bob was killed)

Darry & Soda snuggles for the soul! Hinton said cuddling was canon and I’m going to make that everyone’s problem.
