Maybe i'm too emotional

Kai raised a brow. “What did you just call me?” he laughed. “No, I’m sorry. I was me. I literally switched off from the whole thing.” He smiled. “I mean, I already consider you a queen. Would you… want me to like… well meet your parents?” he asked. “I like the real side of you.”

“Kailee.” Eden replied without hesitation or regret. “Maybe i’ll switch off from you.” She threatened jokingly. “I think you’re a cool guy. But we’ve had sex once in the mayor’s bathroom. I don’t think we’re at meet the parents yet.” She laughed, she liked Kai and maybe there was something else there. But she wasn’t about to rush things. “All sides of me are real, look at me.”

Belle laughed. “Nope, too late. I am insulted. Cook for yourself,” she grinned, pointing her spoon at her. “Wait… do we celebrate me by me cooking? How does that work?” she shook her head, laughing. “But Eden, Eden, I need to tell you something.”

Eden continued to pout, her brown eyes widening at the brunette. “I could cook you dinner but my cooking sucks so the best way to celebrate you is to eat the best food because you love food but no one makes food better then you so you have to cook.” She took a deep breath, almost winded by how fast she’d been talking. “How much you love me? I feel the same.”

“Or we could just take the throne, no more democracy.” She laughed, clicking her tongue. “Now you’ve made a mistake. Never wear the pretty shoes down the lane’s the number of times i’ve gone down in that road.” She smiled at the red head. “I can’t see you as anything but Regina babe, you’re hot.”

“Fine, no more cooking for you,” she said, sticking her tongue out at her friend. “No, I’m just adding some things to my menu, seasonal stuff.” Belle laughed. “You know when my birthday is.”

Eden wiggled her hand. “No no no, I want.” She grinned at the chef. “I do... and i want to celebrate my beautiful gorgeous friend who is going to feed me dinner tonight.”

“Bit shit ain’t it? i didn’t get one either. I think I have an alright looking face and body so I’m in insulted they didn’t think I was spring sovereign worthy.” Elliot joked. “I’m down to plot something like that, they’ll think twice about not voting us next time.”

Eden looked over the man with a quirked eyebrow, he did invite it after all. “I definitely think you’re sovereign worthy. Maybe you’re too good for it. Mary Evans was intimidated by what she saw.” Eden laughed. “Ok, i’m kind of thinking you could just seduce them all.”

“You didn’t?” He raised a brow at the girl. “It’s for the best really, I think it’s a bit silly if you ask me. You can have my coupon I don’t care for it all that much.” He shrugged. “I can order you a plastic one off Amazon if you’d like? They probably did the same.”

“Not one nomination.” She stuck her bottom lip out, looking at the man. “You don’t? I’m shocked. You look like a mini golf guy to me.” She laughed at the idea of the man with a mini golf club. “And where’s the prestige Ronan? The praise. The glory. The amazon delivery guy won’t place it on my head and get on his knees.” She paused. “Do you think i could put that in delivery instructions?”

“I won a coupon to some places.. you can have one if you’d like?” She suggested with a shrug. “Assassination? I’m down. We should start with Ariella.. she got a lot to say recently so may as well start there. plus i like Percy and Belle so we can discuss them later.”

“Do i look like I axe throw?” She flopped down beside Eliza, sighing. She couldn’t help but laugh at Eliza’s suggestions. “Listen, I love all three. But we are talking a hierarchy. We’ve got to do what we’ve got to do to get ahead girly. But i would also accept kidnapping and forcing them to give us their crowns.”

“You and me both, how dare they not nominate us. And you are gorgeous, girl. You should’ve won that whole thing. Look at you,” she nudged her gently. “I am always about Mean Girls references. Count me in. And we so need drinks to go with our plotting. Come on. I definitely need some alcohol to help with my fractured ankle,” she said, nodding down to her heavily bandaged foot. 

Eden twirled, gesturing over herself. “I appreciate that.” Eden started to laugh, she was only half serious. “How the hell did you fracture your ankle?” She exclaimed. “This is a true Regina moment. And this is the story of how Natalia died. Just kidding. She did get really hurt though.” 

“I can’t believe I did. I’m hardly a spring guy,” he laughed, walking beside the girl. “For what it’s worth, if I’d taken notice, I would’ve voted for you,” he smiled gently before letting out another laugh. “Oh, I am in. I like this sassy side.”

“I don’t know if that’s good enough Kailee” She pouted. “I was born to be a queen, ask my parents.” She paused, realising she’d just brought up her parents to the man she was sleeping with. “Or don’t do that. And now you’re seeing the real side of me.”

“Okay, I know this sounds weird. But I promise, I am a chef. Can you try this for me?” the girl gave a smile, holding out the spoon. “I’m trying different things for spring. I just love this time of year. It’s getting warmer, brighter, I just feel so much better, you know?”

“Girly, the fact you have to push the chef thing makes me think you’re not a real chef.” She raised a brow, although leaned forward to taste the soup. “You’re a spring baby aren’t you? I knew it.”

Ajay downed the little was left in his glass as he listened to Eden. “It doesn’t sound lame. I kind of respect that you left everything up to fate.” He liked the idea that the universe could pull something together. “Sorry it didn’t work out the way you wanted it to. But the night is still young, maybe they’ll show up soon.”

Eden smiled, watching Ajay. “Maybe... or maybe i’m just trying to force fate.” She sighed, scanning the bar again. “No, okay screw it. I’m not being that girl. Have a drink with me. I’ll be your substitute date.”

Eden raised a brow. “Okay, it kind of sounds like you’ve been stood up. Sorry.” She smiled gently, resting her head back on the questionable leather seat. “Don’t judge me.... but it wasn’t planned. I was just kind of hoping we’d run into each other. Yeah... that sounded lame and a tad stalkerish.” She half laughed. 

Parker let out a breath, his dark eyes on the girl. “I’m not hiding it. It was just something between me and my sister. And believe me she wasn’t upset, she didn’t even care. Though I regret saying it. I still loved her,” he breathed. “I wouldn’t hurt her or anyone. Fuck… I am a big softie really. I just… I don’t know. I just hate all of this. The world talking about my family like we’re not people.” He rubbed his face. “I’m sorry.”

Eden was tearing up in the inside at the thought Parker had done something to Maddi. But in all the time she’d known him she hadn’t got those vibes from him. A little guarded, maybe? But not murderer vibes. “If i choose to keep this a secret.... you have to promise me you had nothing to do with Maddison going missing.”

“no one’s gonna know this one, but it’s a good tune, i promise.” is he drunk? maybe a little. is he high? absolutely. the bar is somewhat empty, maybe because it’s late. late enough for everyone to go back home, but he’s still out. he needs this. “you ready?” luca presses the button on the jukebox. he likes this place because it’s 90s themed. it’s his favorite bar to be honest. he starts singing when the song starts playing. i’m only happy when it rains, i’m only happy when it’s complicated. he doesn’t care. and maybe a garbage song isn’t that much of a deep cut. but he can be such a snob when it comes to music. thinking he’s got great taste and all of that.

Eden was still trying to get over her week. But the music was helping even a little. “Do you take requests?” Eden laughed, swaying slightly to the song that was playing. 

Parker sighed at her reaction, looking at her softly. “Not like that. It was an innocent sibling fight. She’d made an awful comment about my sick mom… because she was being her usually bratty self. It was just words. I’ve never touched anyone in my life. And I still loved her.” He licked his lip. “I’m telling you, ‘cause I trust you.”

Eden was on edge in her everyday life, behind her bubbly attitude she was just as scared as everyone else about what happened to Maddison. “But you.... you have to tell the police about it. What if she was upset when she left?” She blinked, trying to make sense of why he’d hide it. “I... I know you do.” She took a breath. “I don’t... think you’d hurt her. But why are you hiding it?”
