Quick update: You can now share proposals and regular posts on Praxis! This new feature works just like sharing on other social networks and is available to all verified members. Now when you click the Share button on posts and proposals, a dialog will open, allowing you to add your voice and share the content with your followers.
While sharing might seem like a fairly standard feature, it's a crucial step towards making Praxis a space where people can both promote serious organizing efforts and connect over shared interests and hobbies. As the platform is still growing, we hope this update enables you to continue building and engaging with your communities, making Praxis a more welcoming space for everyone.
For more updates and to get more involved, join the conversation on our Discord, sign up for Praxis here, or check out our GitHub.
Hey folks! If you’ve recently joined Praxis and submitted your vibe check ticket, good news: you’re likely verified by now! Our vibe checkers take a bit of time to verify each new member because they need to vote and reach a consensus, so sometimes it might take longer than expected. We're also still growing and don’t have a ton of vibe checkers yet, so thanks for your patience as we get everything rolling. Hang tight, and welcome to the project!

We’re excited to announce the release of Transparent Roles and Permissions for Praxis! This new feature allows all verified members to see who’s responsible for various tasks and who has access to different parts of the platform.
You can find this information on our new About page, which also includes the project description, server rules, detailed roles and permissions, and key metrics about the server, such as the number of ratified proposals, votes cast, and total number of groups. To learn more about roles and permissions and how they work on Praxis, please refer to our documentation.
We believe these updates will help you better understand the inner workings of your community, making it easier for you to see who is responsible for what. This increased transparency is designed to empower you to make more informed decisions about how to shape the platform and the world around you.
Check out the new About page and let us know what you think!

Exciting News: Group Chat is Here!
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Group Chat for Praxis. Now, every group has its own chat where members can discuss various topics, collaborate on projects, and stay connected more easily.
Here’s how it works: Each group on Praxis now features a dedicated chat room. Group members can access their chat directly from the group page and start discussing anything from planning events to hashing out the details of new proposals.
What’s Next? With the addition of group chat, we’re taking another step towards making Praxis a comprehensive platform for collaborative decision-making and community building.
As always, we value your feedback. Let us know how you’re finding the new group chat feature and any suggestions you might have for further improvements.

Praxis is an open source social network packed with features for collaborative decision making, event planning, and more. Proposals take center stage, offering a diverse range of voting models, with consensus as the default.
With Praxis, you can create groups that empower members to collectively shape crucial aspects such as group name, settings, roles, or the planning of real world events. This flexibility allows for the creation of diverse and dynamic social structures tailored to meet the specific needs of your community as it evolves over time.
While the software is still in its early stages and not yet ready for serious use beyond testing and research purposes, we're seeking your help with testing and user feedback.

Exciting news: We've just created some flyers for Praxis to help spread the word. If you're interested, you can access the high-res files for both the front and back designs here: front & back. Feel free to print them out and share them in your area if you'd like. Your support means the world to us!
Hello! I saw the link to Praxis, clicked and became intrigued. As far as I can see, it’s not fully inhabited yet, but it seems promising. I have a question, though.
Currently, it’s set up to be a perfect social medium for political/physical community organizers, which is great!/gen However, will the platform be open to online communities like fandom spaces? I think having a new, much more publicly run social media site would be great in the current climate of rampant bullshit, but I wouldn’t consider completely moving without there being room for fandom spaces.
This is not a diss or a critique of the current focus of the site! We need spaces where we can set up and plan for societal change and, although right now it’s in its beginning stages, your site looks like it’s shaping up to be the perfect place for that. I love the direction it’s currently going in, I just wanted more information.
Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to explore Praxis and for sharing your thoughts with us. We're thrilled to hear that you find the platform promising, and we appreciate your question about its scope.
While Praxis is designed with a focus on political and physical community organizing, we absolutely welcome a diverse range of interests and content on the platform. We believe in fostering an inclusive space where users can share their passions, whether they're related to politics, fandoms, or any other topic.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us as we continue to develop and refine Praxis. As we're still in the early stages, now is an excellent time for us to gather input and further testing from users like you to ensure that Praxis evolves into a platform ready for serious use in organizing spaces.
Thank you again for your interest in Praxis, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or suggestions.
