Has anyone here heard of or taken CERT training? This is Community Emergency Responce Team training and there are free programs for it all over the US. It teaches a load of useful skills on how to help out in a disaster like setting up teams, doing first aid like recovery positions, applying splints. Team building and organization, light search and rescuce, clearing roads, building go bags and personal preparedness. Even putting out small fires and helping first responders.
It seems like a really good way to help out your area / community.
