He was angry, more-so at himself than Xander, he couldn’t blame him, for he knew what happened back in high school, having both shared similar experiences. He knows he could be quite teasing but he didn’t expect Xander to truly take it to heart

A part of him wanted to scream, to yell out his affections and how he truly meant to him.

But that’s not what he needed right now, he didn’t want to startle him

He took a deep breath to compose himself before he finally spoke

“Oh Xander..” he whispered

“That’s bullshit and you know it, Xan..couldn’t be further than the truth” he tilted his chin to face him.

He didn’t want to say this out of fear he might mock him later, thinking back to what he said prior to when they first started dating

god he was such an idiot! Why did he insist on keeping his ego in check? And for what? The cost of his boyfriend’s self esteem? His doubts?

He took a deep breath, almost hesitating to speak, breaking the silence with a cough

“Xander..I loved you from the start, like- loved you, ever since we met during practice and..I tried..I tried so damn hard to convince myself what I felt for you wasn’t real cause..”

He looked down bashfully, his face going red.

Xanders gaze travels back to Simon before curling into him. He knows that Simon loves him, but that damn voice wont shut up.

He chokes on the words, burring himself into his shoulder again.

If that’s so, he’ll remind him as many times as needed, as many times to ensure him his love is real

Now that the words were out, if anything were to happen to him, if they were to depart.

He places a kiss from his forehead to his nose, foreheads now resting alongside eachother, embracing him for as long as he wished

He opened his eyes for a moment to get a good look at his face, watching his frown slowly turn into a smile

He teased with a chuckle, his arms resting on his back once more before he slowly eased into the couch, holding Xander towards him
