#12DaysofDewey - 900 History & Geography Not all history books are enormous tomes, just the pretty ones we like to show off on Instagram. The 900s are more than just history, we have a huge selection of books on New York City and beautiful books of maps.

#12DaysofDewey - 800 Literature Interestingly, the 800s are organized by language! However, you can see some of the historical issues with Dewey by looking at which languages and cultures get their own section: American, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Latin, Classical languages, and, finally, "other"

#12DaysofDewey - 700 Arts & recreation⠀ The big one! As most of the programs at Pratt focus on fine arts, architecture, and design, so too does the library’s collection. The 700s take up two floors of the stacks at the Brooklyn campus library. For some perspective, all of the categories we have featured previously live together on one floor!⠀

#12DaysofDewey - 600 Technology An enlightening section to scan through. The 600s covers engineering, medicine, and manufacturing. A favorite section for @prattcomd students!

#12DaysofDewey - 500 Science Life, the universe, and everything.

#12DaysofDewey - 400 Language From classic dictionaries and thesauri to more recreational reads on the social aspects of languages and everywhere in between. Even grammar can be fun with "The Deluxe Transitive Vampire: The Ultimate Handbook of Grammar for the Innocent, the Eager, and the Doomed"

#12DaysofDewey - 300 Social sciences In the 300s you will find books on political science, economics, law, and more. You may be surprised to find that fashion materials are in the 300s, under 391 Costume & personal appearance.

From major religions to mythology, the 200s are filled with holy texts, analysis, and history.
