The energy and labor spend on advertisements is waste
This goes double for all efforts to increase consumption, this is brand building, this is the effort spend to design a store so the things you need are all the way in the back and the brightly colored stuff are all grouped near the entrance and exit, its designing services to be used more than they need to be to serve what they were conceived to address, this includes brain rotting algorithms.
Not only do we waste resources and labor to come up with and carry out this insane theater, but removing it will also remove the energy spend every day resisting and fighting it.
One major corner of planned obsolescence is fast fashion, even for clothing that is not designed to fail, its designed to be replace anyways by some stupid social pressure and marketing campaigns, the market logic of capitalism also means that like any industry, fashion has waste, that which does not get sold, clothes that tool labor and resources to craft, are just thrown away, there is a mountain of clothing in the Atacama Desert, Chile, where worldwide unsold clothes gather to be piled on, tens of thousands of tons each year.
Capitalism, as entrepreneurial as it is, creates its own ways to profit, the food industry saves money with cheap, low grade, substitute food products, that workers rely on because of their low pay, which has the effect of creating more demand on the healthcare industry, nowhere is this more the case than the USA with its lax regulations, in places without, or with less for profit healthcare, the state seeks to regulate the excess damages of the food industry to save on health spending.
Just to add onto the food and health correlational, studies have shown that increased consumption of ultraprocessed food is associated with increased cancer risks.
What has enshitification gotten us other than more waste and less consumer satisfaction, having already created high quality offerings, degrading them just to better serve business customers leads to a landscape of worse services for any field the pattern emerges in, leaving a consumer caught between a race to the bottom among the services, in terms of streaming, this has only lead to a growing amount of media piracy yet again.
Overproduction plagues among one of the worst crisis of commodities, cars produced just to sit in a lot for decades and never be sold, food thrown away cause there were too many potatoes that year. The boy scout of capitalism repeats the phrases "supply and demand" which is a way to understand elements of, but not the whole, of capitalist economics, that being the organization of class society wherein the owner class holds the monopoly on political power. To try to bridge the gap here towards understanding capital i will quote my favorite Marxism and explain.

Early cumulative capitalism was the story of merchants, people who engaged in trade, in factory ownership, in organizing companies that run some form of production or transport, and as capitalism matured, and as ventures grew larger, more so did the operations of these become more formal and legislated internally, by shares and stocks, by a new profession of capitalism, the financial professions, a mathematical engine of sorts, a large computer, one predicated on the very concept, "number go up". When companies become dominated not by the whim of a top hat wearing man with a can and a mustache, who might operate his business in any manner he wishes, some to bankruptcy, some to survive the natural selection of the market, but instead became dominated by the shareholders, as they were the most fit for that selection process of the market, then the scope of large economic enterprise became beyond the preview of man but instead operated by that infernal machine, a machine not based on the simple motto of supply and demand, but the one thing shareholdership is for, profit, the very design of the system is that money be put in, and that value grow, if a company can make a share value go up, then its functioning is POSIWID.
Wasted materials and labor is unspent supply, rusting cars in a lot is unmet demand, but maintaining prices as high as they can as a industry of shareholders, thats profitable in the long run.
To keep rattling things off where we waste for no reason and with a change in society we could simply stop.
