Hey Anya, welcome to the tarot reading ask box! So, I don't read for yes/no questions, but I think I can rework yours into something more actionable in the form of the following: "How can Anya ensure that his new job will be compatible with her mental health requirements?" As requested, I'm using the Neopets Tarot, and your card is the Nine of Pentacles upright.

(Eventually I'll figure out how to fix the really crunchy photos that my new-to-me phone's camera takes. But for now, at least it's mostly visible? Tumblr certainly doesn't help.)

The Nine of Pentacles shows Taelia the Snow Faerie and her Snowbunny in Taelia's home on Terror Mountain. She's created a home of plenty in seemingly inhospitable land, likely because she's working with the land instead of against it.

Hard work and discipline do bear fruits, even if they're not the ones you expect. There's a chance here to not just survive, but thrive, because not only are your needs met but you get a little extra, and all of this is because you made it happen. There is security and comfort here.

Overall, it looks promising, but you have to remember to ask for help/accommodations while you work. People won't know if you don't tell them, and even if you don't have legal paperwork to help, you can still go "hey, can you do X" or "hey, can you not do Y around me" or "hey, I need some help with Z". In order for it to be there, you've gotta ask, that way people aren't blindsided.

The other half of the the 38-link masterpost where I compare the Neopets Tarot to the Skyrim Tarot. Given the Skyrim Tarot's performance, I'm interested in seeing what happens when I run this deck through the categories, because I think this deck is leagues better than that one.

Please note that there are things that I just do not know, so there will be things that I miss. Please check the tier list page on my blog for the categories and other decks that I have ranked. All six main categories are judged on a 1 to 5 scale, with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best.

This deck is based on the RWS Tarot and stored in a very sturdy cardboard box; very rectangular, very protective. It has smooth colored lineart, vibrant coloration overall, and feels like the older Flash stuff from the Neopets website but modernized.

It's also called the Faerie Edition and I have no idea if this means that there will be other versions later,

Appropriation VS Appreciaton: 5

Being based on a piece of media that has spent the past 27 years worldbuilding things based on yet not exactly real world cultures and being able to focus on all of those characters, the Neopets Tarot is not appropriating elements, but with work over the years, I personally think that the stuff that they've added have been in appreciation. Maybe not always a win on the website looking back, but the deck itself is fine.

Blatant Bullshit: 5

More of a "wins by doing absolutely nothing" because this deck doesn't bother with a history or introduction before tossing you into the card meanings and reading stuff, so...congrats.

Cohesiveness: 4

More of a 4.5 but we don't do half-marks here, the only outlier is that the Court Cards do not have a little circle at the top of the card with their designation present, while the Minors and Majors do. Every card has the name written down at the bottom in its own consistent banner, and frankly the overall look of the deck works because of the usage of those particularly-slanted Neopets stars pairing up with regular stars. Every card fits.

Connectivity: 4

There are a few character choices in this deck that I find strange, like Jhudiah on Temperance and the Wise Gnorbu on the Moon. However, the vast majority fit the meaning in both character choice and depicted action, making those handful of exceptions overall not that bad. It also helps that every card is fully illustrated to tie into its meaning.

Guidebook Usefulness: 4

This guidebook does not bother with an introduction or a table of contents (that lack of a table of contents is what got it dinged a point). No, instead you start out with how to prepare yourself for a reading, a short paragraph on reversed cards, four spreads, and then it's off to the races with card meanings.

The four spreads are very simple:

There's the one-card draw, which can be used for anything.

There's your average three-card spread, which can be used for anything but the guidebook recommends starting with "situation, action, and result" before you move on to suggestions like past-present-future, strength-weakness-advice, and yourself-other person-advice.

Your average five-card spread about the present, the past, the future, the reason behind your current situation, and an alternative future if you change things based on advice from the past card.

The Celtic Cross, no significator, just ten cards.

I also think this deck illuminates tarot reading instead of mystifying it, helped by the fact that it just jumps right in instead of dragging its feet and rambling for pages about something or another.

Coolness: 5

You know, I think I would call this one of my favorite tarot decks. I'd be hard-pressed to definitively put it somewhere in the 1 to 10, but it's definitely in there. It feels like it was crafted with love to be a good tarot deck and a good piece of merchandise.
