In retrospect kalluzeb was an incredible way to be introduced to fandom. Thrown in the deep end tbh. There I was, having consumed a lot of the same media as my peers my whole childhood, but mostly not being allowed on the internet. So like, I knew about tumblr and fanfiction etc, and was aware of plenty of the memes and tropes surrounding those areas from my friends, but not a participant.
Until one beautiful day this young innocent blogger-to-be is watching star wars rebels and goes "oooooh, I get it. they used to be enemies, but now they're friends! the evil ones changed his mind because of the good one! and they retired together to live a life of peace! I am sure everyone ships this, I know it. I'm going to look this up." Only to be immediately confronted with the most nasty, sloppy, monsterfucking alien-dick gay furry porn written for a children's tv show. And that's beautiful.
the bit in the rebels finale where zeb rushs the troopers in the shield generator room and kallus quietly says his name before yelling "don't!" is so important to me
