1. how old were you when you created them?
Mod Ellie: I think I was still eighteen when Polly was created!
2. what inspired you to create them?
Mod Ellie: I wanted Kasha to have a gf but there was one teeny weeny problem; there was no one on the show I shipped her with. I also just really wanted to make a Mysticons OC. Most of my OCs have always usually been next-gen characters and Polly’s actually one of the first non-next-gen characters I’ve made! I also kinda wanted to own an OC with a friend, so of course I got Emma right on that lol.

3. were they different when they were first created?
Mod Ellie: Sort of! She was still pretty antagonistic, but a bit more cartoony. When Emma showed me the design, I she reminded me of a teenaged, punk Goldie from Ducktales with a pinch of Rachel Amber from Life is Strange (really, really good game btw), and I started working on her personality and backstory of that until I thought of something more original and interesting for her. I do that a lot tbh; I base an oc off of a few characters they remind me of and sort of “treat them” like they’re those characters until they form their own stories and personalities naturally.
She also used to be a pure-bred Golden Retriever before Emma and I decided she’d fit better as a Golden Retriever-mix.
Mod Emma: when we first started fleshing her out, Polly was really gonna be "bouncy and silly", till Ellie suggested a WAY better theme for her (and i wouldnt have it any other way)
4. do you enjoy writing them more than other characters?
Mod Ellie: Hm, I haven’t written much with her yet, but just like all of my characters, I do prefer to write her over certain others. She’s snarky and rude and I thoroughly enjoy a snarky, rude character lol. The dialogue never gets old with them. She also touches a different side of teen angst that I usually don’t consider writing about very much, so she as a whole hits very differently as a character for me.
Mod Emma: shes pretty fun to draft about! I've definitely done more brainstorming for Polly than I have any of my other ocs
5. what’s your favorite thing about them?
Mod Ellie: Too many things; but probably her design and how she’ll develop in an upcoming story I’m in the process of outlining. It involves how she and Kasha first met not too long after Unexpected. But seriously, Emma outdid herself with Polly’s design. It’s punk– but not too punk. She doesn’t look like a bad girl on the surface, but she definitely looks like trouble, which is exactly how she likes to present.
Mod Emma: how shes a wild child! Shes never afraid to get her hands dirty, (if shes getting them dirty with blood is up to you) plus shes super pretty!
