I, personally,

The one hanging upside down is a juvenile, from the appearance of its spotted breast, which adults do not have.. At that age they can fly but are pretty clumsy. I’m guessing it managed to collide with the sheet or attempted to land on it and is now hanging on for dear life. Falling on its head just off the ground is unlikely to hurt it, but it won’t be pleasant regardless.

oh gosh all the time. rarely does she properly doze, but she’ll nod off or drift into her own little world once in a while. especially once clarke gets down the basics and practicing becomes more of a routine for them? 

like. learning the knots to start was very much an equally entertaining and frustrating process. there was a lot of giggling and swearing. but now that clarke knows mostly what she’s doing, lexa’s free to just sort of be there and allow herself to be maneuvered and worked on. 

like. at first they had books. because clarke figured that was the way to do it? clarke was all “we need to get literature” because it helps to have solid copies of things? but a lot of the books are worded weirdly, or the pictures they show aren’t very helpful? so after minutes upon minutes of flipping back and forth between pages, lexa squeaks up and goes “you know..there’s probably youtube tutorials?” 

so now, unless lexa needs to be standing (which she rarely does, tbh) she’ll drift listening to the sound of the air conditioning system running through its cycle, and the traffic down in the street outside, and clarke again and again and again watching things in fifteen or twenty second loops to make sure she’s doing things right. 

it’s like. it’s very much like studying. 

clarke will watch through once or twice, and then the third and forth and fifth  and so on times she’ll follow along, and then she’ll attempt to do it on her own. 

you know what. fuck me sideways. she likely keeps a notebook. she definitely keeps a notebook. of all the different positions and the knots required. maybe even complete with little helpful doodle sketches im askhcfsdvsd
