well i don't think you're understanding my point here. engaging with wincest subtext in all its forms is not what i'm criticizing or have ever criticized. ignoring the complexity of their relationship and more importantly, the way the show refuses to condemn them for their closeness in order to have stereotypical depictions of them that ignore canon is what's ugly. especially framing all that as more moral or (LMAO) "media literate" when it is not.

basically the issue is approaching the incest and class themes in supernatural in ways that seek to strip the winchesters of their humanity and comes off like pointing and laughing at the freaks because "we're suuuuuch naughty perverts for shipping this instead of safer ships". the self-satisfied smugness of it all. and the way these shippers aren't really known for minding their business and not forcing their repulsive views on everyone else. if you think that's throwing stones because we all ship wincest (bad and irredeemable!!) then i can't help you.
