If you want a hobby pick up a blank paper notebook and a pencil and start drawing, anything and everything. The only way to improve is by doing. Sometimes even trying to copy a sketch by someone else will teach you about technique.

I am not sure if your challenge is the techniques for drawing a floor plan or the design of the floor plan. These are two very distinct problems, neither of which you can resolve by checking some tutorial in the internet.

You might think it corny but pick up a book by your favorite architect that includes not only pictures of the projects but the floor plans. Then try to draw the floor plans. I don’t know what is called but you will learn by just tracing the floor plan and drawing how the different elements come together. Once you understand this you can do it just by looking and analyzing the plan but I would start by drawing them.

I remember looking at Richard Meier’s first book for hours trying to understand how the different elements came together to create his designs, his plans are very clean but detailed.
