People’s journeys may have started off differently, joined in at different times but at some point, we were drawn to watching interviews of Luke and Nicola and we were hooked. We watched lives, made friends, read posts and asked ourselves what is going on here?

I had never shipped anyone before but I wanted to see more. Their interactions made me smile, they made me laugh and they made me hope that their connection that seemed so strong was enduring and beyond friendship. It just seemed wrong for that connection and chemistry to not exist beyond the show.

We all know what happened next and how this rollar coster has moved along. I used to never give it much thought, actors would date who they date and I never questioned it. I just accepted what they were showing. I have learned a lot. There are so many things that don’t add up or make sense in every scenario. That’s because they are living their lives while trying to balance private vs public and growing careers.

I love watching videos from the WT and revisiting pictures because there is just something about them that brings happiness and in a world where there is so much happening, it’s nice to see something that brings a smile.

Everyone has their own opinions about what is really going on behind the scenes and that’s ok. No one needs to convince someone else about what they believe. You can take what they have put out there and accept it, you can question it or you can walk away. You can be a just a fan of their work or some other combination. Everyone has their own reasons for still being here whether it’s sheer stubbornness at this point, an unwavering belief or maybe you just like the ride.

I’m still here because I enjoy them and looking back on images and videos. I hope for new content from them one day but time will tell if that happens. In the meantime, I enjoy the revisit of content and seeing projects and new roles as their careers grow. I am a fan of Nicola and Luke both together and apart. I have my beliefs about what could be going on but I also know that I could be very wrong. Either way, that’s ok. Whatever your reasons are for still being here, don’t let it be hate❤️

Maybe between 🐜 and all of her friends and family package we have half of a shared brain cell… who do you think you are trying to deceive? Do you realize the lukola fandom is mostly intelligent middle age woman who chooses to be here just for the fun of uncover the truth and prove you wrong?

As far as his career goes, it annoys me when people get on the lazy/vacation narrative. As I see it, Nicola was fortunate that MFAT was timed to film perfectly between the end of the WT and the start of S4. Yes, Like had a vacation - big deal!

They were then committed to S4 and we know now their parts were not so big, hence why Luke fitted in WM and Nic did GOAT, audiobooks and her brand deals.

After S4, they both took a short break and then were back at it. Luke in HOMQ and Nic in BM2 and IAH.

For me, the problem has been since HOMQ. Nic stayed busy with her long play run and then all the promo for projects and SNL. So we’ve been fed well from her. But really nothing from Luke and it’s been so long now. 8 months.

Do you think this could be a deliberate choice to take time off?

I actually think you laid this out really thoughtfully, and I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. I completely understand people missing Luke content specifically because, compared to Nicola, things have felt much quieter publicly for him over the last several months. But I also think project timing plays a huge role in that.

Nicola has had several projects and appearances lined up back-to-back, many of which were already filmed long ago and are only now releasing publicly. Between MFAT, SNL, GOAT, audiobooks, brand work, and everything else, we’ve consistently had new content from her. With Luke, it feels more like his projects are sitting in the “filmed/in development/waiting to release” stage rather than actively rolling out yet.

And honestly, I think people are far too harsh with the whole “lazy” narrative. The man finished a massive world tour, filmed season four, WM, and HOMQ. Taking time for himself in between projects is normal, especially after the level of visibility both of them experienced during the WT era.

I also think both Luke and Nicola seem to be entering phases where they’re figuring out what they want long term creatively. Nicola appears to have an interest in multiple forms of entertainment, while Luke has always seemed deeply connected to theater and performance work. So honestly, either of them could surprise us with what comes next.

And personally, I would not be shocked at all if we suddenly got a Luke announcement when people least expect it. I think we probably know far less about what’s happening behind the scenes than people assume.

I completely understand craving Luke and Nicola content though. I think people became very attached to the consistency of seeing both of them everywhere during the WT era, so the contrast feels much bigger now.

Personally, I do not necessarily think the quieter period is some intentional disappearance so much as two people likely taking time to rest, recharge, and enjoy life together in between projects the same way anyone else would with their family.

I’d pay big bucks to know what Luke said to Sam that had Jack and Nicole floored!

In Season 3, Colin and Penelope’s wedding dance feels so beautiful because it’s completely centered on their love for each other.

The way they look at one another, dance so closely, and seem to forget everyone else in the room makes the moment feel incredibly intimate and emotional. It’s like, after everything they went through, this is finally their moment.

Colin’s gentle touch and the way Penelope looks at him with so much love and devotion says everything without either of them needing words.

What makes the scene so special is how tender it feels—not dramatic or overdone, just two people completely in love and fully choosing each other.
