I like blind items.

I like gossip.

I’ve always liked gossip.

Part of that is probably because I’m naturally curious, but part of it is also because I enjoy puzzles. I enjoy trying to figure out how different pieces fit together and whether there’s a larger story hiding underneath the surface—which, if I’m being honest, I feel like there is.

Blind items are meant to cause a stir and get people talking. They’re simply another form of engagement and information. Unverified information, but information nonetheless. And that information is only one piece of a much larger puzzle—and you know how much I love those.

When a blind item drops, sometimes that piece ends up fitting. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it changes how I view a situation, and sometimes it gets discarded completely.

What interests me isn’t just the blind item itself. It’s whether it aligns with the broader patterns I’ve already been observing.

And that’s where blind items become more interesting to me. One blind item can be dismissed. Two might be coincidence. But when similar themes continue appearing over time, when narratives seem to circle back around, and when new pieces consistently fit into an already existing pattern, I start paying closer attention.

That doesn’t automatically make something true. But it does make me curious.

Because one blind item doesn’t change my perspective. But when something keeps repeating, when themes continue to surface, when narratives appear and reappear over time, that’s when my attention starts to sharpen.

Maybe that’s why I keep finding blind items interesting.

Not because they provide answers.

But because they give us another piece to examine while we’re trying to understand the larger picture.
