This isnt even about anything specific because i see like 20 things a day that make me ask this

pewdiepie fans literally have their heads so far up their asses at this point. he just gets outed over and over and OVER for funneling his fans into far right ideology, like this should have been settled as soon as his twitter follows became clear– you don’t follow Steven Crowder, Ben Shapiro, Stephan Molyneux, etc by accident or as a “joke”. I seriously do not fucking understand how ANYONE who considers themselves even slightly left-of-center can see that and go “well who KNOWS what his politics are”. It’s right there in front of you.  But even so, the thing that makes it so frustrating is that the same scandal just happens AGAIN and AGAIN. He gets exposed for having ties to far-right content creators, or for promoting nationalist literature, or the million other things that he’s been “called out” for– he makes a video where he cries and apologizes, and everyone goes “How can you POSSIBLY criticize him?? He’s apologized!!” Apologies don’t mean shit if you don’t correct your behavior!! This Man Is Not On Your Side. You have to be RIDICULOUSLY naive to fall for this shit dozens of times in a row, to the point where I now assume anyone defending him is far-right themselves or is unbelievably, dangerously stupid. YES, people deserve second chances. They do not deserve a tenth chance, especially not when their audience is mostly CHILDREN. He is not being “framed”. This isn’t “cancel culture”, and it isn’t “distracting from the REAL fascists”. He is repeatedly giving his young audience a direct pipeline to those exact people. Take. It. Seriously.
