i cried a little watching Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

not at any of the intentionally sad parts, like Syrena being sentenced to death or Angelica having to watch her father die or Phillip being almost killed (several times)

I cried when the Spaniards demolished the Fountain of Youth because it was pagan. Destroyed an ancient temple simply because it wasn't written about in their religion of choice.

Someone put love and care and time and energy and strength into building that temple. Someone put their love and blessings into creating it. Someone protected it with magic. Someone carved and crafted those chalices.
