I literally cried during the ending of ch5 going "oh my god susie.. ohh.. her home.. ohh susie she loves all of the darkners so much.. ohh she finally has a place to live where she can be happy and loved and safe" so finding out that apparently people were seeing this as like a deeply tragic "oh no susie has gone too far and started seeing the Fake World as Real, how sad" moment makes me feel fucking insane. huh? huh? what? how could this chapter possibly have nailed it in harder that dark worlds are real places full of real people and real consequences that matter deeply and not just "kris and susie's fun pretend adventures"

The dark world and light world need each-other respectively to exist, this isn’t even thematic the world will literally end if the dark world and the people in it were not real

#also Raseli’s whole story is she’s wrong for dehumanizing herself and constantly trying to enforce the idea the dark world/darkeners #exist just for the light world #I’m more so sad because NOBODY in that light world (minus kris and Noelle) deserve the darling that is Susie #they can all burn in hell for treating my darling so poorly

I think it’s worth noting about Ralsei’s development in the latest chapter that there’s a really common misconception about what’s going on with her. There’s a lot of memes and whatnot of her being an egg- being clueless and unaware about how obvious it is that she’s trans.

But this chapter explicitly debunks that.

The entire argument between her and Flowery is that she is refusing to let herself be happy. That she’s the only one holding herself back. She openly expresses euphoria about the possibility of being a princess, but offloads the responsibility of her own autonomy to others. She resigns herself to the role of the Prophecy, and outright laments this position.

Ralsei isn’t clueless. She knows who she is and who she wants to be. She’s not an egg, she’s closeted. Her journey isn’t about self discovery, it’s about unshackling herself from expectations and letting herself be who she wants to be.

#also in chapter 4 she cries because she ‘knows everything’ and how she’s cursed with infinite knowledge of her world and her existence #knowing exactly what her place in the universe is and how it conflicts with her wants and desires #basically she’s just ignoring TS
