Storytime. Many years ago when shiny was still a brand new thing, I was playing Silver on my Game Boy Pocket. I didn't realize what shinies were exactly, nor how rare they were. Since the display was black and white, if you encountered a shiny Pokémon, you'd have to be paying attention to the sparkle animation. During the bug catching contest in Goldenrod City I run into a shiny Weedle. The animation happened, but I wasn't paying full attention. Didn't think anything of it, so I ran and won the contest. Only to realize YEARS later the terrible mistake I had made. I have finally rectified that mistake. #pokemon #shiny #kakuna #friendsafari
