Rich boys don't have hearts

“They can be more bark than bite at times, though they are smart with their age, irritable at best, they are just very angry,” Huijun chuckled looking down as he grinned. “I could too,” peering towards the pixie he laughed just a bit. “They might, better watch out,” he smirked, gently nudging him a bit. “They wouldn’t kill us, they surely would be jailed and they may have anger issues but they are smarter than that,” he shrugged, peering up to Lee. “But we can save such activities for the bedroom,” he moved past Lee, walking towards the cafe. “After all you’re paying for my tea, how about tonight you stop by place and I’ll repay you?”

“Yes, but I don’t like to test that anger,” Lee said with a smile. “I’m just a pixie, you know? Can’t really fight a torrent of water with a bit of aura sensing magic, or the ability to cure a headache.” he waved his hand. “I don’t want to get water boarded.” he chuckled and followed Huijun. “You don’t actually have to repay me for a cup of tea, but I’m not going to object.” he pulled open the cafe door for Huijun, grinning.

Dante chuckled quietly, a smile growing on his face. He watched Lee let his finches hop on him. They all squeaked at him, one right after the other, sometimes together, demanding attention. He could tell they all loved the pixie. With a little hop in his step, he left for his bedroom.

When he came back, minutes later, he had the very loud cockatiel in the palm of his hand. She was whistling a tune to him every few seconds, with a little bit of prompting from Dante. “Atta girl. You know the song.”

Lee hummed contently as he watched the kettle begin to whistle, taking it carefully off the stove and then picking out a nice chamomile tea to help both of them wind down after such a stressful day. Just as he was pouring the tea, he heard the sound of the bird singing.

“Ah?” he looked over, the finches fluttering about his shoulders to adjust to his movements. “Look at her cheering you up, Dante. She really did miss you. I’m surprised she isn’t more mad at you. No bites, huh? I thought for sure she would have nipped your finger, or something, for making her worry.” he winked and then looked back at the tea. “Did you want some honey in your tea?”

Huijun snorted, lips curling a bit in a small smile. “Sometimes angering Tsuga is necessary, they can be awfully comical when angered,” he mused, looking down with a soft smile. “I would never put you under their wrath more, it’s of my own clumsiness, I merely had to get another tea,” he smirked, holding out his hand to Lee. Pressing his lips to the other’s neck he hummed just a bit. “A tea would be nice and maybe a visit from you after the fearful boss leaves?”

“I think they’re more scary, to be honest,” Lee said with a light chuckle. “Oh, they won’t come after me. They’ll just curse my name. I think I can handle a few curses.” he paused. “Although...Tsuga might know some real curses. I know they’re not a witch, but...I dunno...I feel like they know things.” he shook his head and then smiled again and looked at Huijun with a smirk. “A visit? Really? What if Tsuga shows up in the middle of it? We’ll both be dead.”

Summer Solstice - ft. Lee Hahn and his squad of friends and family

Lee and his family always celebrate Summer Solstice as a big gathering of all the Hahn’s, so it’s an event to be remembered. Lee spent the first half of the day in the Seelie Court with his older sister and brother-in-law, plus his nephew that he has barely gotten to spend any time with since they never seem to leave the Court these days.

The second half of the day was spent back home in Devil’s Watch, doing the various rituals here and there for the Solstice. But once things were finished on that end, Lee spent the late evening just running around town visiting friends- namely Huijun and Dante.

Wildcard! So, a random memory perhaps?

“Let’s see. Oh! When I was living in France for a while, I have a really good friend over there who is our neighbor- and by neighbor I mean his family also has an enormous mansion in the countryside of France that’s fairly close to our own. Anyway, he taught me how to speak French and he used too take me out all over the countryside and into the towns and even some cities. Most of my favorite memories of that country are because of him. Of course now he’s married and has kids so he doesn’t have much time for me, but I still take care of him and his family in little ways. I owe him a lot.”

A sad memory that makes them cry:

“Mmmm, all of middle school and freshman year in high school. I pretty much cried through all of those years. I don’t know, I haven’t had a lot of bad things happen to me, you know? Which I’m grateful for, but those years were very difficult in my life. I know it sounds silly, but things like that really stick with you sometimes. My “friends” back then used to say a lot.../a lot/ of terrible things about me behind my back, and then smiled at me like they never said a word. It was devastating then, and sometimes I wonder if it’s still going on with people I care about, you know? I know compared to most people’s troubles this sounds exceptionally petty. But hey, whatever. It’s my struggle.”

A memory that leaves them feeling lonely:

“Hmmm. I think when Grandfather Hahn passed away I felt a lot of loneliness. He used to come over to our house a lot when my parents weren’t around, and he’d often be at dinners. He was really tough on me, but I still respected him. I respect all he’s done even now. I still miss him a lot, he had a lot of good advice. But...yeah, I remember when I finally came to terms with the fact that Grandfather Hahn wouldn’t ever come over to the house again...that was a lonely feeling.”

A memory about their friends:

“Well, I’ve had a lot of fake friends in my day, but I’ve also had some really good ones. I’d say I have more good friends now than I did as a kid. Dante and Joseph come to mind as good friends. It’s funny how I seem to befriend cute, little humans, but it works for me. Anyway, a memory...well, I guess I like how we met. Dante I met when he was feeding birds in the park, I think. He was cute, so I sat down to do it with him. Joseph is a hunter, and even though he’s been away lately, I knew him from when he was young and I think he’s a very good person. He’s always admired my wings, too, so...he has good taste.”

A memory about a good deed they did:

“As a pixie, I like to go around town and sense if anyone needs an aura adjustment, or anything I can do for them with my powers. I’ve been like that since a child. My earliest memory of it was when I had escaped home and was in the park and an older woman asked me what I was doing out alone. I told her I just wanted to be in the park for a bit, but I could tell she had absorbed a lot of bad energy from somewhere. I asked her if I could help her with her aura and I’m pretty sure she had no idea what I was talking about, but she said yeah and I helped her. She felt a lot better! I was really happy that I could help her, too.”

A memory that made them feel loved:

“Oh, so one of my birthdays when I was just a little kid was hellish. My parents were abroad with both of my sisters, and they promised to be home in time to celebrate with me, but their flight got canceled. I was devastated, the whole house had decorations and I had a cake and gifts, and no one to celebrate with. But Marta, my more real mom than my real mom, came out while I was crying in the kitchen and sang happy birthday to me, and then gave me a little something that I could open before my family got home. We had our own celebration, and she...well, she made me stop crying. That party was far better than the one I even had with my family.”

A memory that leaves them laughing:

“There are just so many. Probably something from my childhood, because I really drove my family crazy. I was always escaping the house and running to the park to play. Giving them heart attacks. And I would come home to them running around and freaking out. It’s funny, and just proves they could never control me from the get go.”

A memory that leaves them feeling guilty:

“Oh. Hm. I don’t know. I try my best to not live my life with regrets, you know? I’ve definitely hurt peoples feelings before, but...I don’t know, there was always probable cause for it, I’d say. I can’t think of one.”

And here’s Theo’s ask box too, I’ll answer his after I answer Lee’s-

“So you are, we will have to see if the time comes,” she patted his chest just a bit. Smiling towards him. She stared into his eyes a bit, blinking as his gaze seemed to travel just a bit. “Hey,” she smirked. “Stop,” she gently nudged his elbow. “You are a good boss, love,” she smiled disappearing behind the screen to change. Coming back a few minutes later. Slowly running a hand through her hair. “So, I think I should treat you to lunch, you know for the massage.”

Lee stuffed his finger tips into his pockets. “You don’t have to,” he said. “I wouldn’t mind going to lunch with you, but I wouldn’t expect you to pay for me, my dear. Isn’t that a bit too much?” he winked. “Going out to lunch with a millionaire...well, one shouldn’t have to pay. Unless that one is the millionaire, of course.”

✴︎ — “ I’ve certainly ruined lives in my time. Sometimes it’s hard to help it. Especially when you’re young and everything is new, ” Glimmer shrugged, nonchalant, although she wasn’t going to flat out admit to having slaughtered entire households, let alone her own family.

Lee chuckled a bit. “Yeah,well, I’ve caused my own sorts of troubles,” he said. “I don’t know if it was ‘life ruining’, but I do like to spread gossip. Which can have devastating effects.” he watched her curiously. “I think you sound very fascinating to me.”

Dante’s face quickly eased up into a much happier expression as the finches in the living room heard them come in. He didn’t even bother to take off his shoes, simply walking straight toward the big cage and opening it up. Sugar quickly jumped onto his finger and started chirping at him, almost like she was demanding something. He laughed softly. “I know, I know. I was gone for a while.” He muttered quietly, lifting her up to kiss her beak. The bird flapped her wings to land onto his shoulder, the other two following her example and leaving the cage.

“Should I go get Cake?” He asked the birds in a cute tone, looking back up at Lee.

Lee nodded. “You have to get Cake,” he said as he watched his friend become a bird perch. “She’ll get jealous and will be mad at you. Here, let me take a couple of your birds and you can go and get Cake. It’ll be...a family reunion.” he held out his hand so that a couple birds bounced gently onto his arm. He smiled pleasantly at the creatures, trying to give off a warm and comforting aura to calm them.

“Go get your big bird and I’ll put on the kettle so we can make some tea,” Lee suggested as he walked into the kitchen with the birds still contently perched on his arms.

Calista shrugged, staring into his eyes. “I do not know if it’s about who is best, just who would have my well being at heart, besides I also know you would not get serious with it, like some may,” she nodded slowly staring at her feet as they hung off the table. “Well I am glad I can talk to you about things such as this,” she whispered, peering up to him again. Slowly standing she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. “Thank you, I am going to get dressed now,” she turned away from him, walking to grab her clothes. Peering back to Lee she smiled softly. ”You are a really good friend.”

“Oh yeah, I’m never serious,” Lee said with a shrug. “That’s why I’m the best fling in town.” he chuckled and then tilted his head. He was surprised to receive the cheek kiss, but he liked it. He couldn’t help but stare, either. “A good friend? Well, I’m glad for that much. I hope I’m a good boss, too.”

Huijun hummed just a bit as if to say yes to his question. “Tsuga will be pissed if I’m late, that’s just them, but I’m in no mood for their attitude right now, it might make me walkout, honestly,” staring at him, he nodded slowly. “Oh- shit that might help enough to get through this day,” he rubbed his face.

“Well, I don’t know what you want to do, then,” Lee gave a sympathetic smile. “Tsuga doesn’t like me much, either, so I’m sure I’ll be of no assistance...” he paused. “Although you could just blame your lateness on me instead. That way they won’t take it out on you.” Lee winked and nudged his arm. “Yeah? Well, I can do that for you, then.”

Dante looked up then and forced a little smile, trying to make Lee a little less worried. Though, he knew it was kind of pointless around someone that was a pixie. “I’ll… I’ll be better once I’m home.” He said, nodding like he was telling this to himself. “I just need to…yeah, be home. Hopefully.”

“Yeah,” Lee said with a smile, although it seemed sort of sad since he was so worried. They finally approached the house, glancing around to make sure it was safe. It seemed to be, so they looked at Dante. “Give me the keys,” they instructed, and then took the keys and unlocked the door and made their way inside, still holding onto Dante’s hanf to give him comfort.

“Here we are,” he said, although his voice was nearly drowned out by the birds chirping in earnest as they saw their Dante walk in. “Looks like they did miss you.”
