I've been meaning to reply but it's been fairly busy running to the east coast back to the west coast after getting stuck with a flight delay (it really wasn't that bad we were stuck for like 9 hours but it was overnight and they wouldn't give us a hotel and my mom was not happy and we had to book one ourselves but we eventually got home) and I had to zoom back to school and lock in then go back home because it was Eid, a birthday, a grad party and I think we ended up going to one other person's house so fairly hectic (okay but now you've got me thinking about bubble gum kittens and if they were made out of bubble gum would they be sticky or like freshly packaged and powdered texture? bubble gum colored kittens sounds so cute)

Parental expectations can be rough. My older sibling is also a high achiever, and I'm lucky my parents were chill about it. We all have different strengths and such. Journalling has been helping me a bunch, so I would definitely recomment it. It doesn't even need to be in a real notebook—sometimes a few lines of braindump on my phone is all I need to get my brain out of a spiral. And I'm not militant about writing in my self accountability* journal every night, but it definitely helps me calm down and get ready for sleep when I do.
*I've renamed my self care journal as my self accountablity journal because that works better for my brain, so if you're someone who struggles with the concept of being kind to themselves maybe phrasing it like this might help? idk.
