Hi sorry I hope you don’t take this the wrong way! But as someone who loves hucklerabbot I do think it’s kind of jarring to see how people seem to love mischaracterizing/reducing Robby to an OOC villainous asshole to make Jack look better. I know you said you prefer huckleabbot, and this is a popular setup for their ship, but people would never do the same to Jack to make hucklerobby the more palatable option :(
Maybe I’ve been in fandom too long, but it’s always been respectful ship etiquette not to deliberately put down another ship just to uplift the one you prefer, even in hcs. Or if you do, it might be more prudent to tag character/ship bashing so that people who love the character and ship don’t have to see it.
(I feel like this was worth bringing up because if your pfp was anyone else, I would’ve thought you were a hucklerobby/Robby anti based on your last au lol 😭 unfortunately it’s been getting more difficult trying to filter out the genuine Robby bashers, and I know some of them have probably reblogged your post. I love Jack down but it makes me sad when people leverage on Robby being the popularly disliked character to frame Jack as the better one for Dennis, when both of them canonically mentally struggle. We’ve just never seen Jack’s.)
Dude. I’ve talked about Jack being an abusive asshole in others posts too. It’s not character or ship bashing. It’s literally just a more toxic version of them. I also said in a post that I’d do toxic rabbot as well and toxic all 3 of them together.
I’m not mischaracterizing him, I don’t think he’s actually any of the things I was writing about. (Which I’ve clarified in comments before too) It’s an AU idea I’ve been playing around with. I’m not doing it to make one ship more likable than another. I’ve also written plenty of sweet hucklerobby stuff too.
I love Robby, he’s probably my favorite character in the whole show and I have plenty of posts talking about how much I love him.
But frankly if someone is using my post to bash him I’m not gonna care cause it’s fandom and people can just do whatever they want and feel how they want. If I don’t like it I’ll scroll which is what people who don’t like certain topic posts should do
I’ve also been in fandom a very long time as well. Fanfics, fanart, rps, you can do literally whatever you want with the characters. Plus I’m not putting one down to uplift another. I’m being mean to my world’s version of the characters. Creative liberties
Also in the future I suggest you block my blog if you don’t wanna see toxic ships because I have a LOT coming soon. As it is my blog and I can do what I want with it.
