how do u actually save bees?

Seriously refusing to eat honey is one of those well-meaning but ultimately terrible ideas. The bees make way too much honey and need it out in order to thrive (not being funny but that was literally a side effect in Bee Movie). Plus that’s the only way for the beekeepers to make the money they need to keep the bees healthy. Do not stop eating honey because somebody on Tumblr told you too.

Plus, buying honey supports bee owners, which helps them maintain the hives, and if they get more money they can buy more hives, which means more bees!

can I add another super good thing to do? If you find that some bees have made a swarm ( a group of bees that go off and create a nest somewhere out in the wild. this usually happens after a queen bee that was born leaves the nest on her own or kicks out/ is kicked out by the current queen so they have to make their own nest) somehwere on your property, find the number of a local bee keeper and tell them where it is. they often times pay you REALLY NICE MONEY for those bees, particularly the queens, and it helps bee keepers keep their hives populated when there’s a particularly harsh winter AND it’s better for those bees in the long run. my mother kept bees and it was so nice. I got to learn so much about beekeeping and bees in general and at one point we had a swarm just hanging out in the hedges.
