For those reading my fic (the ethubs HTTYD au)-

what do we imagine the Hermit’s base camp looks like? The one that x, ren, wels, beef etc live at. Because we know they pack up and move often, but we also know that they would try and make things beautiful. They’ve got Grian and False, you know? V beautiful builders.

Id think they'd have some form of teepee- something they can pack up nice and quick, and the fabric itself is probably dyed. I can imagine people like Grian and false and whoever else might be crafty like dye the tents to the respective hermits and how they interpret their personality- so each hermit has their own? Or if they sleep in pairs and groups then maybe the tents could reflect the group instead of the individual.

Id think they would have lines of drying goatskin and sheepskin on wooden frames (or maybe they smoke hydes over fires instead) for clothes and blankets and anything that'd be needed. They'd probably have places to salt and dry meats, like drying it outside or inside huts with campfire smoke and stuff. And im guessing because theyre on the move a lot (and theres a lot of them) they need to eat a lot and they have a big store of dried meat- especially because i assume they can't carry heards of animals with them everywhere- which is also probably where the scavenging comes in.

Thats just off the top of my head, but if you wanna get more into it than I think you should research more into nomadic societies what that looks like and stuff ^-^

X doesn't know, interestingly. He took one look at this mess that was Etho's code and went "nope."

Etho WILL freeze up if any mention of Unknown is brought up. nobody has figured it out.

Only a few people have ever seen Etho without his mask, one of which was Bdubs, who had given up on asking about it long before Etho showed him. He doesn’t have a mouth, just a gaping hole with a single speck of light inside. If you were to look too closely you might notice it watching you.

Then there’s Etho’s scar, which sometimes doesn’t even seem attached to his face. If he were to cover it with his hand you’d still be able to see it, as if there’s nothing obstructing it. It doesn’t work like that if someone else were to try covering it.

There are also a few who have wandered a bit too far into Etho’s builds and found themselves in a world they didn’t recognize, standing in front of a piston door built into the side of a hill. The door opens into long, twisting hallways full of strange sounds and objects. It’s easy to get lost in there, and the only unique room is lined with doors, each leading to something new.

One has a pink Wither that has only ever been seen in dreams; one is filled with lava, diamonds dropping down into it from the ceiling; and one door leads into more halls, but they’re smaller, and they’re the home to Etho. Many Ethos, all with blank, white-eyed stares. Some hold pages ripped from their books, the text garbled and corrupted.

If you’re unlucky enough, one might follow you home. These Ethos were not meant to exist, especially not outside their mazes. They can only speak in a handful of set phrases, only being able to follow the script they have corrupted beyond recognition.

That’s where Gem got the creature inside her secret lab. She managed to trap it after it followed her out of the labyrinth, and put it into a test tube to be studied. Etho knows, there’s not a way he can’t, but he ignores it. The scripts are long in his past, and the ERROR 404: Description not found — they were meant to be forgotten.

.... the pink wither from an April Fools update. How many of those updates does he have in there? If you venture deep enough can you find the Etho Slab? I'm not sure if you'd want to....
