Lee Geon Maan is a Korean designer, educator, and scholar whose work has greatly contributed to the development of contemporary culture in Korea. He received his BFA and MFA from Hongik University and later earned an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in the United States. He also pursued advanced design studies at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and at Philadelphia University.
He currently serves as professor at Hongik Universityβs College of Fine Arts and Graduate School of Industrial Arts. Throughout his career, he has served as a juror and advisor for major national design initiatives, including the Korea Industrial Design Exhibition and the Good Design Selection Program. His contributions to Korean design culture have been widely recognised with numerous national honours, including the Presidential Commendation at the Korea Design Awards.
