this is solely based on the actorās performances in 2001 HBO docu-series. in no way is it my intention to harm or offend real life veterans.
MALARKEY, SKIP, AND ALEXĀ had made up a competition of sorts. it was just between them three, but whoever made you laugh the most with their dumb jokes got bragging rights for the day. whenever youād come around and check on them theyād try to get you to stay for as long as possible. distracting you with stories, like the time skip went down Niagara Falls. or when Alex embarrassed himself when asking a girl out. they all knew theyād step into a line of fire if it meant hearing you laugh at one of their jokes or stories.
DONALD HOOBLERĀ was young, and dumb. he was only 21 ! so no one was surprised when he swore up and down on his life he was completely in love with you. you were like an angel to him. heād call you pretty, even with sweat dripping down your forehead or when there was blood on your hands. he believed that someone as beautiful as you could never look ugly. whenever he got up to trouble, heād sneak you things like a drink or food. if you sat near him heād talk your ear off about how badly he wanted a Luger. he always said to never tell anyone, but he promised that when he found a Luger heād let you hold it and test it out. whenever supply time came around he made sure he grabbed a little extra medical items to give to you later. one day when he had given you the extra supplies he got, you kissed his cheek as a thank you. he smiled like a kid on Christmas, and he knew he won in life when he saw your small smile as well. he bragged about how you kissed him, and that he made you smile from that day on.
BULL RANDLEMANĀ is a gentleman. heās the one whoās asking you if you slept okay, or when you last slept. heāll give you extra food if you start looking a little to skinny for his liking. he wants to make sure your okay, he wants to make sure all the medics are okay. he knows how rough the war can be, and he was grateful when you and Eugene patched him up when he got a piece of exploding tank back in holland. if you need somewhere quiet to be, bull is that place to go. heās never been to much of the party type, nor does he find himself being a loud and proud guy. If you need someone to talk to , you know you can go to him as well. if you want advice heāll give it, if you just want a listening ear then he can do that to.Ā
GEORGE LUZĀ is the companyās version of a āclass clownā heās funny, can do the impressions that can get you out of any situation. he also gives the best company gossip. but, besides those things, heās a good guy. heās nice, funny, caring. majority of the company sees his joking side, and only a few have seen the side of him he doesnāt show very often. your one of the few. heās never gotten to badly injured, but heās still had to come to you for some cuts or when he complains about pain. whenever your around, he relaxes more. itās embarrassing for him to admit, but your a warm and calm presence. your always offering kind words, those words become some soldierās last bit of hope. heās always polite towards you, never once making jokes or a mockery of you. hell, no one made jokes about you. whenever you patch him up, or tell him itās gonna be okay heāll mumble a soft āthank you, sweetheart.ā and offer you a cigarette.Ā
JOESPH LIEBGOTTĀ is one of the companyās biggest assholes. everyone can agree on that. but when heās not being stubborn or hardheaded, heās quite sweet! just like any man in the 101st airborne, he has walls around him. heās tough, you hadnāt seen him cry until the day you found the camps. it takes a while for you to break down those walls he has set up. when you do, you see how vulnerable he can be. he had sisters growing up so he was used to being the older brother that was tough and protected them. he knew he could protect himself, and for a while thatās all the reassurance he needed. till he joined the paratroopers. emotions weighed on everyone, but everyone seemed to talk about their burdenās in a way that didnāt make people laugh at them. but when you came along, he naturally found himself wanting to open up. you were always there to make sure he was okay, and when he did get injured youād keep a close eye on it for a few dayās. or when he got particularly whiny youād sneak him a Hershey bar. youād come sit in his foxhole with him and let him talk about his sisters back home. heād ask about your home life, and youād tell him the truth, whether it be good or bad.Ā
EUGENE ROEĀ knew what it was like to be a medic. thatās why he understood you so well. whenever you got quiet, or zoned out, he understood. he didnāt question you, he made sure you got enough rest and food in you to properly function. whenever somebody called for a medic heād run to them before you got a chance to. you guys shared meals and long nights together. which meant a lot of talking was done. eugene wasnāt a talkative guy, but on the nights you talked about life back home he would open up to. heād talk about what it was like in Louisiana, all the different foods his mom would make growing up. heād tell you it was beautiful there, and that it reminded him of you. because to him, you became a sliver of home in this war. you were the person who understood him the most. you knew what it was like to see these wounds the men obtained. eugene didnāt flinch or crinkle his nose at the blood , and neither did you. which meant you two worked in perfect unison with each other. he knew heād be alright as long as he had you.
WINTERS, NIXON & LIPTONĀ all were a little to grown to be head over heels for you like the other men. donāt get me wrong they all cared for you! they all thought you were sweet, you delivered comfort and solace to the men within the company. they were glad you were in easy company. if you needed a hand carrying supplies, one of them was there to help you with it. if you needed something, they were on the look for it. spierās might bring you back something he thought you might like, or something he thought you may need. they all had their own jobs that made them busy, but if they noticed you looked a little more gloom then usual theyād ask you about it privately.Ā
