I know I don't really go here but I really hate that the Tom Holland/MCU Spider-Man fans can't stand to see a grown ass man have a friendship. I've talked about this extensively with lrondad but now my dash is filled with Frank Castle being Peter's father figure. Did you... guys... watch the movie? It wasn't really giving that vibe. They were in maybe 5... 6 scenes together? They were arguing for over half of them. And even when they warmed up to each other, it's nothing like a father-son relationship. Uncle Ben is the only one who should've been Peter's father figure, and MCU didn't even include that.

Peter Parker is a grown ass man. He does not need some guy to be his father. Especially someone who doesn't act like one (Both Iron Man and Punisher).

I like their interactions in the movie, they're funny and I like their dynamic. But they are just two grown ass men who are friends. They don't need to be like father and son. Stop infantilizing Peter Parker, again he is a grown ass man, not some baby who can't do anything for himself and needs every man over 10 years older than him to be his father. He does not give Frank Castle puppy eyes to watch Star Wars and eat pizza with him.

My favorite thing about J. Jonah Jameson is that he just hates Spider-Man. He supports mutants and doesn't hate enhanced people. He's not racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic. He just hates Spider-Man. And I'm half convinced that he's faking for the publicity.

He'd probably get pissed if he hears someone hating on Spider-Man for being enhanced.

"Spiderman isn't a menace because he can climb walls! He's a menace because he's climbing walls without a license or safety equipment! He's setting a bad example!"

I know things have been bad in terms of politics for a very, very long time, but I do think there is a reason to be hopeful for the future.

as long as there are people who want things to get better, things are going to get better. every new generation brings a new group of leaders that will eventually be able to make so many impactful changes.

I really do think we have a lot to look forward to, and there's a good chance we won't have to wait all that much longer

Dick and Kory weren’t just a couple — they were narratively built for each other. Marv Wolfman and George Pérez crafted them with parallel arcs, emotionally and thematically. Dick, the disciplined human struggling with identity outside Batman’s shadow. Kory, the exiled alien princess learning humanity, freedom, love. They grew together. Their relationship was emotional, spiritual, ideological — not just romantic. They were equals who challenged and bettered each other.

And then editorial got messy.

Enter Babs, whose original purpose was not even romantic, but Batman's girl counterpart and suddenly she’s being wedged into a love triangle like it’s CW drama. Not only that, but they deaged her, rewrote her dynamic with Dick from “older mentor figure” to “quirky same-age love interest.” That’s not evolution, that’s surgery on continuity with no anesthesia.

They butchered Dick’s history with Kory just to make room for a status quo that’s more palatable to a Bat-centric branding. They erased an engagement, deep emotional growth, and cosmic-scale love just to reduce her to a “fling.” That’s not just disrespect to Starfire, that’s disrespect to decades of storytelling.

It’s no coincidence that Dick and Kory’s relationship flourished when they had autonomy outside the Bat office. The Titans gave them space to be messy, raw, radiant. And it’s telling that when creators have the chance to write them freely (like in Titans, DCeased, Injustice, Future State) they gravitate back to DickKory. Because it works.
