German-born musician and composer Carolina Eyck is one of the world’s foremost theremin virtuosi. On this channel she wants to present this
^^That panel makes me go insane in conjunction with the mini christmas episodes. Ambrosius saying that things were good, with Ballister saying they were never that good and the rest of his reponse is just—so good. The stocking, Ballister looking out for and protecting Ambrosius. Ambrosius assuming Santa finally came with Ballister knowing the true origin of all of Ambrosius’ gifts and what Ballister had to give up to make that happen. I know that Ambrosius also has normal selective memory/memory shifts going on because that’s how memory WORKS and also to suit his narrative, but like… There is an element of Ballister shielding Ambrosius from the worst of it and that’s a part of where their disconnect with their memories comes in.
It’s actually very heartwarming that all of these villagers are banding together to do their absoute BEST to save this random English man. They’re terrified, threatened, and can’t do much, but everyone is making individual or group efforts to get him out of this danger that he doesn’t even know he’s in at this point and like. They’ll fail, of course, because we’ve still gotta have the plot happen to the main character, but! Idk, just the fact that they’re all giving it their all to save a random stranger who most of ‘em haven’t even interacted with or never will again is. Good. Gives hope for humanity to last you through the horrors to come <3
Was revisiting these early entries today. What gets me is that everyone tried SO hard, and they were so close!! They almost made it! But then the count comes anyway and the horrors begin but there was a CHANCE. Ahhh the hope was so close I could almost taste it and then it was snatched away :’)
Very effective story telling! I really love how the sense of dread and unease is built up in these beginning chapters!
It's NOT a New Years resolution. We've talked about this.
But since I am starting a new planner, I have blocked off a little section for three things: Consume, Create, Maintain. And each day, I want to have at least one thing in each box.
Consume can be: Watch movie. Scroll social media. Look at pretty art. Play video game. Read book. Listen to music. Listen to podcast. Drink a latte. Have a candy. Brew some of the fancy tea. Etc.
Create can be: Draw, paint, doodle. Crochet. Write a long blog post. Write in my journal. Put stickers in my journal. Work on a jigsaw puzzle. Make some food that involves more than opening a box. Have an in-depth chat about our D&D characters with friend. Arrange trinkets on a shelf to be aesthetically pleasing. Create a playlist. Etc.
Maintain can be: Text friend and ask what's new. Write a letter to grandma. Call sister. Dust off the bookshelf. Put away that half finished craft project. Brush the cat, or clip his nails. Change the sheets. Go grocery shopping. Use a sheet mask. Use that leave-in conditioner. Throw out that dried-up nail polish. Etc.
Because y'all know that otherwise my ADHD ass will pick ONE of those categories and do it ALL DAY until I collapse.

Also, I HAVE RETURNED TO MY ROOTS. BEHOLD. BIRD BE UPON YOU.
Also this one deserves it’s own post. Sky but the sun is an EYE and is LOOKING at you. ….
My brain is a wonderful place, trust.
The one with the guy looking sideways you must excuse for the poor quality because I read a scene in a book and was hit with a mental image SO HARD that I had to scribble something out as soon as possible, screw the quality. Also the guy in the bottom corner of the second one is very funny to me. He’s just a guy. Just a silly little guy. Silly little goober
another gawain and the green knight dragon piece

When I was training to be a battered women’s advocate, my supervisor said something that really blew my mind:
“You can always assume one thing about your clients; and that is that they are doing their best. Always assume everyone is doing their best. And if they’re having a day where their best just isn’t that great, or their best doesn’t look like your best, you have to be okay with that.”
Any now whenever anyone in my life, either a friend or a client, frustrates me, disappoints me, or pisses me off, I just tell myself They are doing their best. Their best isn’t that great today, but I have days where my best isn’t that great either.
Op I’d like to thank you for sharing this. Ever since the first time I’ve read it I’ve held it in my mind and it really has helped me to be kinder to others and to myself.
Pet peeve of the day is the way many fiber artists use "carpet wool" as a catchall derogatory term for any wool that is coarse and scratchy, with the implied meaning carpet wool=garbage wool. That is not what carpet wool is.
Carpet wool, as the name implies, is a term for the wool from sheep specifically, intentionally bred for centuries to produce wool that is ideal for carpets (historically meaning rugs or, less often, heavy outer blankets, not just carpet like the modern stretched kind stapled to the floor.)
The ideal fiber for an item that is going to be put on the floor and walked on needs to be durable and easy to clean, therefore each strand needs to be long, relatively thick (yes, that means coarse,) and not prone to easily felting.
What it DOESN'T need to be is particularly "soft." The long fibers will make a smooth enough surface to not irritate the soles of your feet and you're not generally going to be wearing a rug right against very sensitive skin all day where you can feel the prickly ends. "Carpet wool" breeds, also known as longwool breeds, have wool fibers that perfectly meet those criteria.
A rug made from wool from a hair sheep or some meat sheep that is coarse but also brittle and short is going to wear out and fall apart ao quickly it's not worth the effort to make it. Therefore, despite being coarse and "scratchy," it is NOT CARPET WOOL. Use that for stuffing pillows or compost it for fertilizer.
A fine, soft, Merino rug is also going to be a felted, pilled, worn-out mess in such a short time it's not going to be worth the effort to make. Save that for a beautiful lace scarf that's going to be directly against the skin of your neck all day. Judging by what's best for rugs, Merino is actually the "garbage" wool.
Anyway, humans spent millenia developing different fibers for different applications, and also words mean things and don't mean other things. Can we please stop calling Lincoln or Wensleydale wool "garbage" because it makes scratchy socks and can we also stop calling Katahdin or Dorper hair "carpet wool" please.
Also, the sheep that grow the wool are absolutely rocking the look.
Imagine telling these lovely Wensleydale ladies their hair isn't glam!
Forget if I posted this here or not…but behold my silly summary of That One Part of the Wedding of Dame Ragnell:
Gawain: Hey, how’s your part of the quest going?
Arthur, crying, wailing, rolling on the floor: Ahhhhhghghggg, Gawaaaain, you’ll never believe it, I met the UGLIEST lady and aasdahhhhh, I would rather be DEAD
Gawain, very alarmed: Sir??? Maybe do not? Do that???
Arthur: Gawain, you don’t understand, she said she could save my life but that she wanted a husband out of it and I Really Can Not Overstate just how unbearably UGLY™ she is
Gawain, very relieved: Oh, that’s all we have to do to get an answer to save your life? Okay chill, I’ll do it then
Arthur: that’s actually kind of funny because she Specifically requested you if her advice helped me
Gawain: Alright, well don’t worry about this anymore! Seriously, I’ll take care of it. I’d literally throw myself into a volcano for you
Arthur, tears in his eyes: Gawain, you’re my favorite nephew and the bestest knight ever and I love you forever and ever.
….
It’s a clown show all the way down
Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this 👇
And this gem 👇
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
📺Here is my list:
Proko (Free)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard)
Aaron Rutten (free)
BoroCG (free)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates)
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, ect Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Libresprite (free, for pixel art)
Those are the ones I can recall.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
Incase people missed this.
New Frame Plus for character animation! Incredible analysis by the guy that used to do Extra Credits
Autodesk sketchbook is also a free drawing program
Imagine you’re an astronaut visiting an alien planet for the first time and you find out they already speak American English cause they keep the guy you thought died years ago in a zoo. He loves being in the zoo, and offers you a burger made from his own meat. Also he named all the aliens after movie characters.

you cant just say that man
NOTICE FOR PSYCHOTIC PEOPLES LIKE ME AND THE NEW TOMODACHI LIFE: Please please pretty pretty please be careful while playing Living the Dream, esp if you’re currently unmedicated!!!
The game treats the Miis like they’re real people and makes zero mention ever that they are not, and only ever refers to them and their POV as if they are real and you are their caretaker! While playing this honestly messed with my head pretty badly at times and made me worry a lot on if I was hurting real people/not doing enough for real people while I was playing!
I cannot imagine how much worse this would be for someone who’s unmedicated, non-dormant, or experiencing breakthrough symptoms! Do please be careful and PLEASE remember to have a way to reality check yourself while playing the game!!!
Also: If you’re not psychotic, please reblog this anyway!!! It may not seem like a big deal to you but these kinds of things are REALLY important to know for us psychotic folk in a world that is both hostile and negligent to us and our needs!!!
