Yapping about my Ranger OC's!!! There's three of them by now. Don't ask how that happened. I was going for just one.
1. Alex
This kid was found by Crowley, mildly traumatized. His parents were thrown in jail for child abuse a day and a half later. Now Crowley has a 13 year old to care for. Crowley names child Alexa, because child didn't have a name. Anyway. A year or so later, Alex is like 'i am boy' and he's now a boy. Pretty cool. Then, Alex gets apprenticed to Gilan. All goes well. Alex passes his first year. Then gets accused of working together with a large criminal network. The proof is pretty strong so Alex dips. He just dissappears. Leaves a note behind with 'i will prove my innocence father' or something. Alex doesn't have a real father. Who does he mean. Bro returns almost a year later with his ✨️awesome haircut✨️ (undercut with ends dyed pink) and he casually saves Crowley's life. Is back to being Gilan's apprentice because he proved his innocence. And that's all the lore basically, just a cool ranger who does some cool stuff and is mildly protective over father Crowley. Yippie!
Also, fun fact, Alex is aroace. He's got quite a few female friends and this one time Will teased him about that he was just like 'who would ever want romance like that's stupid'
2. Maxim. Just a cool ranger and friend of Alex. He's pretty naive sometimes and actually has a good childhood. No trauma. Lucky guy
3. Gary. Older ranger and one of the Rangers to return to araluen in TEY 2. Absolutely hates Halt and the Haltlings because... he doesn't like cralt. Jealous man. Lmao. He's a good guy and excellent ranger, but... he can hold grudges. Like he's held a grudge against Halt when he heard Halt and Crowley were dating, which is when Gilan was in his FIRST YEAR. And Gary STILL hates halt. Lmao?

SPOILERS FOR BOOK NINE
1. Sam
So she is Wills firstborn child! If u remember in book nine of the original series theres that think with the barrows... iykyk. Anyways, Sam is different cus of that experience. You see that encounter left residual ghost magic on Will. And Will being an adult with a functioning immune system, didn't really notice too much of it! But when he had a kid with Alyss, that passed on to that child. The child is much more vulnerable and still developing... and now ghost magic! :D She becomes Gilan apprentice after Alex. She does have powers and is a teensie bit emo and a little bit goth. Sorta. She has pale white skin, lilac eyes that glow under the full moon. Fangs. She can summon a ghost horse named Wraith. She can phase through things and go invisible and stuff! She uses this for pranks a lot lollll! Her hair is also entirely white, and she gets black tendril like tattoos. Partially cus they look cool, partially to get Gilan in trouble with her mom for letting her do that. (He did not let her do that, he didn't know XD) she loves mischief but often keeps a deadpan expression and scowls at everyone. First thing she and Halt did when he met her as an infant was have a glare off lollll. Shes besties with Alex and they get into so much trouble together!
2. Chase
A child that Halt finds and adopts. Chases father was part of a group of mercenaries that were sent to kill Halt, Gilan, Will and Horace on one of their missions. But before the fight, Chase accidentally becomes friends with the rangers because he makes REALLY good coffee! When Chases father dies in the fight, and they later realize that Chase was not in on the plan and never meant them harm... they decide to abduct him.

You gotta understand, the coffee was too powerful to leave in the enemies hands!
They save Chase from the mercenaries, prank crowley, and Chase gets "hired" (adopted) by the ranger corps as their official barista!!!! :D
3. Reg
Wills second oldest! He plays the bass recorder and gets miffed when people call it a clarinet. He likes turtles. He enjoys cooking and eventually apprentices under his aunt Jennie! Hes a wholesome bean!
4. Ellie
Wills third child. Shes got long blonde hair and blue eyes and is very quiet and shy. She doesnt say a word and for four years Alice and Will think its just because shes taking her time. Eventually they start to realize somethings up and they bring her to malcom. And turns out shes mute. They set to work l teaching her sign language and learning themselves so as to support her.
Ellie ADORES Halt! Shes hesitant around her aunts and uncles, and even pauline. But Halt? She just climbs into his lap without asking and falls asleep against his chest
Meanwhile Halt is like a deer caught in headlights, "Pauline help"

Halt really likes her as well and eventually gives her Hubert, a pet frog to sit on her head and stare at everyone judgmentally while she reads her books. She loves reading books!
5. Silver Wraith
A warlord tries to take over araluen, Halt, Gilan and Will stop them. Then they find out that warlord is actually just a kid... barely nineteen. They'd previously thought he was like 30 or smthing. His names Andrew
Halt adopts him. Theres a lot of trauma. Also he has a gun and a cool mask! :D
Idk where he got a gun in medieval araluen, dont question it. /j /lh
Anyways after Halt helps him through... all of that and hes been staying at Halts place for a while, they get into a fight. He runs away and steals the gun and mask back when he goes.
Halt tracks him down to a village that had recently gotten rumors sprung up that there was a vigilante keeping people safe there. And Halt knows its Andrew they meet casually one night. Silver Wraith parkours down from the rooftops and takes off the mask and is like, "Halt"
And halts like, "Andrew"
And then they stand there awkwardly for like five minutes in silence before actually talking about it. Halt doesnt take him home, its clear hes happier here, but in his own gruff way makes sure Andrew knows he always welcome back

Kadam: (smirks) I’m buying you some nice platform heel boots. Sensible ones too. No one will take you seriously if you can’t wear heels.
Halt: (sets down his coffee slowly)(his eyes narrowing) If you even come near me with heels, I will throw them and you in the moat.
Kadam: I can swordfight in heels. I can poledance in heels. I can do both simultaneously in heels. Can you do archery or pole dance in heels? I bet you can’t even walk in heels.
Halt: (his pride smarting ever so slightly no matter how ridiculous the challenge was) I can walk them. I just don’t, because they are ridiculous.
Pauline: you can walk in heels? Why didn’t you tell me? Kadam, I’ll supply his boot size. He needs heels.
Halt: (panicking internally) no.
Halt internal thoughts: et tu pauline?
Crowley: (just came in) WhAt iN tHe woRlD diD yOu Do to hiM?! 👀👀👀
Halt: (had just stepped into heels) I, I shoot better than you!
