I've been stuck on the ep where seven falls in love with chakotay for about 8 months bc it's so insane to me. I would be less disturbed if they had neelix shack up w tuvok. like they turned my autistic icon into 'just a girl'. they turned my obsessive first officer into a loser. the way janeway must have thrown up at this happening
The way we all threw up at that happening.
I think a lot about the fact that Tom was originally written to be somewhat of a boy toy for Janeway, and how Harry was also written to be someone quite similar to Janeway and somewhat of an adoptive son who looks up to her in many ways.
I think a lot about the fact that Janeway so effortlessly gave Tom a third chance to do something with himself based on how he's an incredible pilot, and how Harry locked in his best friend almost entirely through spite because he hated being told who is worthwhile.
I think a lot about the fact that Janeway proves time and again how her happiness is less important than getting her crew home, and how Harry has broken the temporal prime directive, suffered torture, and given up his only chance at a life he deserved so Tom would be Tom.

i feel like i deserve a medal for not picking fights online even though i have to see many people call the catholic church a force for good and progress
the catholic church is still agaisnt divorce, against abortion, against gay rights, still doesn't allow women any power, still silences victims and protects abusers. this is true regardless of how nice and sweet the current figurehead is. i get that the pageantry is very fun, but i could never enjoy it because the sight of a cardinal fills me with anger at all the above 🙏
