I realized it was the 10th anniversary of my Star Trek youtube channel this month and I wanted to make a fun video for that, so I made a completely gratuitous music compilation of a lot of my favourite Janeway clips to see how my skills have improved since my first video. Please enjoy :)

I also finally finished making a Star Trek fanworks section of my personal neocities site! I put all my fanfics, screencap edits, fanart, videos, and everything in the one place, inspired by the individual fan sites I used to read fanfic on. Apologies if some parts of it have a little bit weird formatting/colours/etc, I'm still learning.

I read that woman’s biography (Mosaic) and her autobiography (The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway), and listened to her later tell her own crew of various adventures like sneaking out of the house and walking miles in a thunderstorm after losing a tennis match.

woman almost died cave diving because her friends chickened out and she went with a boy instead. got a commendation for sneaking off campus because she saved an old woman’s life in the process. built a replica of da vinci’s flying machine so she could pilot it onto the roof of the dean’s office.

Kathryn Janeway is a scientist in the way Indiana Jones is an archaeologist. undoubtedly qualified, but there’s gonna be a caper about it.

rather than view her statement as an outright lie or a bad characterization by the writers, however, the funnier option is that she thinks of herself as rather introverted, withdrawn, and nerdy. That she is so deep in the trenches of her own mental landscape that she doesn’t realize that other people view her pursuit of science and diplomacy as acts of extreme charismatic recklessness.

@the-last-dillpickle since i'm being enabled. janeway can't date anyone on the crew and neelix catches her arguing this case to chakotay (who is only telling her that she should date someone bc he wants her to he happy. No Other Reason) and reminds her that he's a civilian and would love to take her on a nice romantic dinner. janeway thinks neelix is funny (they have so many scenes together when he gives her advice about things and they joke together... this is canon, neelixhaters) so she agrees maybe partially bc tuvok overhears and starts to tell neelix off that this is ridiculous and the captain would Never so playful janeway turns on and she goes actually neelix i would love that.

but then when she shows up to the holodeck the dinner is honestly really thoughtfully made and he made her a buquet of red roses and some really weird talaxian dating things happen and the dinner explodes. they laugh and then janeway remembers a date with mark and trails off silently and tries to excuse herself but neelix says an unexpectedly profound but stupid anecdote that relates to her current captaining troubles

and then they do a talaxian sex act which is basically cuddling which means starts align and neelix doesn't say anything misogynistic and janeway's self imposed repression doesn't get triggered so basically janeway has a wonderful time and goes back to her quarters before 10 with her roses and a promise to meet next week for holodeck double luge with neelix and holographic nikola tesla or some shit people entertain themselves on voyager year 10.

An admiral, four years later, informing T’pel of the news: Lieutenant Tuvok is trapped in the Delta Quadrant. It is a harrowing situation, but he is alive and has Captain Janeway’s leadership. I am sure they will return.
