He won mostly because people didnât vote. His numbers didnât change much, but herâs sure did compared to Bidenâs.
We will never elect a woman president here. The sexism, misogyny, and double standards are too deeply rooted in even those who claim to be âliberal.â Iâm seeing so much hate for Harris right now, almost entirely from liberal/progressive white men.
A woman will never, ever be as good as a man here. Women here must be the embodiment of every manâs fantasy, every manâs mother, every manâs ideals, and every manâs politics. Men are allowed to be flawed, even in positions of power. Especially in positions of power.
Even some of my progressive white male acquaintances didnât want to vote for her because she couldnât provide them with a perfect candidate for them. This complaint wasnât ever made as loudly for Biden, or Obama. But they cannot see themselves in Harris, or Clinton; even the most educated and empathetic of men still carry some deeply-rooted misogyny, whether conscious of it or not. And they have zero awareness how they sound to women who have always had to vote for far-less-than-ideal candidates we donât see an ounce of ourselves in.
Yes, I truly believe this. Yes I realize #notallmen. No this probably wonât be the most popular opinion. But maybe it will make one person think for a few seconds. đĽ
