"you remember worrying about your friends." anyways this culminated in toby posting an enteirly black image with a silly looking sprite of kris smiling captioned "you remebry oub." or something similar and the whole community lost it trying to decipher what it could mean

Cf all the tragic things in the children of time series I think the ark ships make me the saddest. the crew of the Enkidu tried so so so so hard to make it work. they really did want to save as much of Earth as they possibly could, and their very best just wasn’t quite good enough. And it never even mattered at all-that shuttle crashed and burned leaving behind the echo of what could have happened looping inside the simulation machine.
