Shiori was sitting in the library, typing away on her keyboard at a table towards the very back of the room, not able to be seen thanks to the multitude of bookshelves blocking her from view. Contrary to popular belief what she was engrossed in was not homework, far from it actually: she was typing up a report for the latest case she had been assigned, a string of burglaries around town all consisting of the theft of different potted plants. While the case wasn’t too terribly difficult–it was actually quite amusing, to be honest–it wasn’t any more enjoyable than her school assignments, and she couldn’t wait to be finished filling out the seemingly endless paperwork that scrolled across the screen. It actually wasn’t due for a couple days now, but she figured it would be best to get it done earlier than she needed to so that she would have more free time to partake in activities she actually did enjoy in the end.
As she wrote up the details of the case her eyes were completely glued to the screen, not taking note of any of her surroundings. Admittedly she had chosen this spot due to how quiet and secluded it was; as much as she liked talking with and helping out the multitude of random students she somehow ended up meeting in the library today she needed a bit more time to herself, and she hoped that she would be able to finish up the last few pages without being disrupted. Of course, that didn’t mean she would be–and at a school like Hope’s Peak, privacy was a concept that was foreign to many students…
Kyung’s very, very glad he’s finally found the library again; after about two entire hours of aimlessly searching the building, he’s finally done it. He exhales a sigh of pure relief, leaning against the doorway for comfort. As he catches his breath, piercing yellow irises scan the mostly empty hall, everything silent apart from the sounds of people conferring almost silently to each other, the flips of page turns, and hasty typing on keyboards, no doubt from students attempting to turn in their assignments on time. The librarian gives the escape artist a pointed look, and he shrinks back, nodding and smiling enthusiastically albeit nervously, wringing his hands together behind his back for comfort before making a beeline to the back of the room, padding softly despite his great size.
The blue haired boy’s eyes browse the shelves, never once leaving them as he walks; he occasionally stops, picks out a book from varying heights of shelves, takes a look at the blurb, and puts it back, resisting the urge to hum softly as he always does when he’s concentrating. Kyung finally picks out a book, starts reading immediately, feet still taking strides towards the library desks that are mere metres away; that is, until he trips on something, and he’s sent flying. He stumbles forward, just barely managing to catch the end of a table to support himself, looks up, and he swears he can feel his soul leaving his body.
“A-- ah. I’m, uh, sorry..?” The boy’s mouth is opened wide into a gape, and he’s sweating and blushing profusely. Oh, god, why.
