My Petty Life

It has been awhile.  Honestly, last time we saw them it was ok.  But here we are again! We get a weird text from his mom on Tuesday complaining about his sisters upcoming graduation.  Graduations have been ROUGH this year.  But his sister’s school was apparently hosting small groups of kids at a time to walk the stage.  My fiancé asks his mom who would be allowed to attend due to all of the restrictions.  She tells him that “basically just me and your grandma.” So, we assume we aren’t invited as we weren’t asked nor given the date of the graduation.  But we did get asked to come up this Saturday.  Why?  I don't know.  Whatever.  That was Tuesday.  But by “basically just her and grandma” she convenient left out that his brother and his brother’s brand new girlfriend came home from wherever they live, and were going to be waiting outside the high school to take pictures with the family.  That they were going to go to dinner after the graduation.  That essentially they didn’t want my fiancé and or I to be there and it seriously hurt his feelings.  And on top of that, when I messaged his grandma to say he was bummed, she said that my finance’s mom had told her that we said we couldn’t make it today.  Which was a HUGE lie.  Gotta love it.  Makes us not want to visit them this Saturday.  Guess we will see what happens.  

As I was saying in my previous post, my fiancés family makes us drive to them for everything, but on his own birthday we have to meet them halfway, because where we live is too far away for them.   So, this past year we made sure to get to the restaurant first and my fiancé sat at the head of the table, which in their family is a big deal, I’ve never understood it, but WHATEVER.  Anyway, his family walked in, fucking PAUSED like they saw a murder right before their eyes and his brother was like, “Where am I supposed to sit?”  Uh...First of all, you are the younger brother, so NEVER at the head of the table according to your family.  So...another chair?  Or the floor?  Or, even better, next time, don’t come if you are going to be a dick.  

Today my fiancé and I are supposed to drive an hour and a half to wave out a car window at his sister for her birthday.   This morning his mom and his sister were literally 30 minutes from our house, but didn't bother to call.  Which is like pretty typical that when they are close by they don't call or try to see us, but every time we are close to them we ALWAYS stop by. My fiancé and I are NOT driving an hour and a half to wave out a car window when we could have driven 30 minutes to have a social distanced lunch with them.   And when his mom, or his brother call later to complain that we didn’t come to the drive by, I hope he fucking rips their throats out.  I hope he tells them that on his OWN BIRTHDAY TWO YEARS IN A ROW NOW we have had to meet them HALF WAY BECAUSE WE ARE TOO FAR AWAY FOR THEM.  I hope that he tells them that they should have called when they were close by.  I hope he tells them how fucking shitty they treat him.  How shitty they treat US.   But, his mom is always the victim.  She could run someone over with her car and act like she was the victim.  Same with his brother.  His YOUNGER brother who thinks because he is the ‘cool brother’ he should sit at the head of the table.  On my fiancés birthday.  But that is another story.  So, even if he does tell them the truth, it won't matter.  We will be the bad guys.  We will always be the bad guys and I am TIRED of it.  

Fun Fact: My fiancés family treated him so badly on Christmas that he called me that day and said he wouldn’t be staying over night anymore.  That him and I will go over on Christmas night to have dinner together and leave together.  Imagine treating your own son/brother SO badly that he doesn’t want to come over for CHRISTMAS.  So, even though we HAVE to stay at my house in quarantine today this Mother’s Day, he would rather spend it with my Mom.  How sad is that? 

You ever like... try to tolerate someone, but every time they pop up on facebook, or instagram or just whatever... want to curse them the fuck out?  My fiancé’s ‘sister-like-friend’ has seen both messages about needing her address for a wedding invitation and has ignored both.  Not that she has ever spoken to me, except the ONE time we met, but even at that she was talking to my fiancé, not me.  I was just the dumbass sitting there with my thumbs up my ass. I know he’s the only man you’ve ever met that didn’t hop in the sheets when you opened your legs, but get over it or get out of our lives.  

Today they are asking both my fiancé and I to do a drive by birthday parade for his sister.  His sister who doesn’t talk to me.  Who threw a FIT when I didn’t invite her wedding dress shopping.  Who threw ANOTHER fit when I didn’t ask her to be in the wedding party.  So, I was the bigger person and I asked her to be in the wedding party.  I said it wasn’t fair that her other brother was a groomsman and I understood how she could feel left out.  She fucking shrugged her shoulder and was like “Yeah, I guess.”  I also asked her and her mom to plan our bridal shower.  They said no.  DO YOU WANT TO BE INCLUDED OR NOT? Alright y'all.  Like, I was a teenage girl too, but get a grip.  You are about to go to college.  You either want to be involved or you don’t.  I just won't ask anymore. So, in short.  No.  We are not driving an hour and a half to wave out a car window when you don’t even LIKE us. 

According to this... I’d have like 9 people at my wedding.  And none of them would be his mother, sister or brother lmfao

P.S. His brother has this shitty turtle tattoo that he probably asked a hobo to stick and poke into his shoulder.  When he found out my fiancé got a tattoo he made fun of him. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

I’ve now made two posts within our wedding facebook page.  The first was on April 3rd asking for people addresses so I can prepare our invitations to be sent.  I posted another today, just about a month later saying that we are so lucky that our wedding is still going to be happening.  That because October is so far away our venue is very positive we can still have our wedding.  I once again asked for addresses... Since I am the admin of the group along with my fiancé we can see who saw the post and didn’t like/comment.  I had so many friends saying that our wedding is an event they are looking forward to.  So many friends messaging us their addresses.  The one friend my fiancé once called his sister saw both posts and didn’t like/comment or give us her address.  His own mother, sister and brother saw the post and didn’t like/comment or say anything.  And yes, I know their address, but not his brother.  And don’t think for a moment that I will message him and ask.  His can’t even message us his address, but he thinks he can demand to give a speech at our wedding.  I’m so sick of these people treating us like shit.  This is your son, your brother, you could give even the tiniest shit about him and me who is marrying him.

I am engaged to what many would consider to be the black sheep of his family.  He is already pushed to the side and not the favorite in any of his family circles, with the exception of his grandparents and some cousins.  So as much as I try to be positive, as much as I try to be involved with them, they are just happy that he has someone and they don’t have to deal with him.   I think in the beginning most of them liked me, or tried to really get along with me, and I didn't think we had a bad relationship.  But clearly things have changed.

Hi there!  This is a blog for me to complain on and just let my stress out.  I don’t assume anyone will actually see this, and man I really hope the people this is about don’t see it.  But if they do, oh well.  I honestly don’t think they would care either way.
