Hey guys. I’m a law student that has just returned back to university after I had to move back home due to severe mental health issues. I had to leave my past job because of it and my new job has no medical aid and a significant pay cut. I’m currently looking for a second job but the economic situation in South Africa is at an all time low. I am scheduled for a gall bladder removal in about a weeks time and have no medical aid to pay for it. I drained the last of my savings on helping my parents with rent when I was back home. I’m about 500 dollars (around 10k rand) away from being able to pay for the surgery. My PayPal is [email protected]. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

The urge suddenly struck me though to reach out and ask perhaps where you take inspiration from and if you maybe have any book recommendations/what your favs are haha cuz dang! Your writing style is just so elegant, it feels very.... hmm, almost classical i might say? And I really love it so i was just curious ^_^ Thanks and cheers!! ♡

Hmmm for inspiration, that's a tough question for me bc I've really been influenced by so many (often random) things. I actually do read a lot of classic stuff tho lmao so I'll start by listing a few of those out

The ones that come to mind immediately are Shakespeare and Homer. Especially Tempest, Othello and the Illiad. I also adore Paradise Lost, Dante's Inferno and East of Eden.

For modern titles, recently I loved the dark whimsical prose in Mona Awad's Bunny and Heather O'Neill's Lullabies for Little Criminals. And the experimental story-telling in Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin and Otessa Moshfegh's My year of Rest and Relaxation.

There's probably tons of other books I can't recall atm, but yea I would absolutely 200 percent recommend any of the above.
