doffy's "cuteness aggression"..... or something

It's late February/Valentines, I'm in the mood for a One Piece soulmate AU Idea but the twist is you have a "living shadow" of your SO.

Appears between 13-21 years of age and its shape is the form/age of how both will meet them.

Once fully realized the two Shadowmates will join together in a helix dance, confirming they are indeed the one.

The shadow itself is always attached to the person but can move further away on its own mimicking the mannerisms, can't speak although it can make noises such as laughing, scoffs, yelps etc. Best use for them, other than emotional, is look outs.

They can attack other shadows and "harm" them tho there's never been a recorded case where a shadow has killed another (devil fruit powers are the exception)

There are stories of shadow-mates changing form to another, either from severing the bond of two soulmate's or one has died, is always the end result of these tales. Any truth to them however are just as dubious as they are plentiful.

Crocodile x Doflamingo:

Young Croc finds his shadow... interesting, certainly tries to please him or at the very least get closer (in his space ironically?) doesn't know what to make of Doffy's true nature that he sees in bits.

Young Doflamingo HATES his shadow, at the age where he wrathfully commands servitude 'or else', Shadow Crocodile does nothing BUT show disrespect and disdain towards the boy. (As this is the version behaves like that with future Doffy) So for a while the two are usually pissed at each other.
