Flying around

i don't know if this is something anyone else can relate to, but as amazing as in-system dating is it's also incredibly tragic in a way that i don't think we've seen anyone talk about. there's a cruel irony in getting to spend every moment with someone you care so much about yet not being able to truly be together in the ways that really matter. you can cuddle in headspace, co-front, etc which is amazing in its own right but it never scratches that itch, it's never enough, it always leaves something more to be desired. it's as if a pane of glass or a mirror or something separates you, you can be right there with each other but there's still this separation that you can't get rid of no matter what. and it fucking gnaws at you every time you stop and think about it. we try to appreciate what is actually possible, the fact that despite everything we still get to be together, etc. and it helps a lot but it never quite helps enough and sometimes it just gets to be unbearable.

If you want to be accepting of mental illness, you need to accept the fact that some people's everyday lives are going to be terrifying to you. That doesn't mean they don't get to talk about it. Stop forcing hurt, isolated people to become even MORE hurt and isolated because you can't fathom toughening up a bit.
