I was just thinking about empty books and expectations
People will expect certain things from you because of your title, your cover, your blurb, and an empty book defies all of that, ignoring what's expected of it and leaving it up to the imagination
A new born is an empty book already with a title, a cover, a blurb, setting up expectations of what it should be, what it should read like, what it should be about, and that baby grows and writes its own story, oftentimes twisted by these expectations of what they should be
It's beautiful in a way that shows that you don't have to be what people expect, you can write your own stories, write your own words and while some people try and write to fit their title, their cover, their blurb, to try and fit in to what society expects them to be, others write what they want to write, defy their title, their cover, their blurb,
I want to be one of these people, I want to start defying my title, my cover, my blurb, be who I want to be, not who I am expected to be because of my title, my cover, my blurbÂ
I no longer want to be who people assume I will be because of my title, I no longer want to be someone who fits the genre and style of book that people assume I will be from my cover, I want to rewrite my blurb, describe to the world who I am in my own way rather than who my parents, my friends, my peers, strangers, describe me as
I want to be someone with a story of change, from someone who is a shell of me, to someone who is me, who is who I want to be rather than who I am expected to be
