L- I mean, I guess what it really all comes down to is one...simple question.
Do you want him in your life or not? ♥️
........
C- I miss him. I mean, he pisses me off all the time. And there are so many things about him that I find hard to accept, but I just have to believe I can find a way. Because I’d rather have him in my life than not.
E- Well, then I think you know what you need to do.
Cuz darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream ...

I don't think we've talked enough about the impact of Double Trouble posing as Flutterina. I don't mean the impact on the war - I'm talking personal.
Did the rebels get attached to the character of Flutterina? Did anyone have a particularly close friendship with "her"? Did they tell her some really personal stuff - and did DT, dedicated actor that they are, offer advise or comfort like a real friend would? Did they make plans to keep in touch after the war? Did Frosta vibe with Flutterina and bond over being the two youngest members of the rebellion? Did any of them really, truly think they found a close friend in Flutterina?
The show didn't explore it past the initial shock, but after they were revealed as a spy, how did the others feel? Imagine them thinking back on every interaction they ever had with Flutterina, every meaningful bonding moment, and realizing none of it was real.
Ooooo, I like this. Some side character who felt like they deeply bonded with Flutterina and then one day she’s gone and no one knows what happened and of course not too long after Horde Prime shows up and that person just thinks she died during the occupation. Then one day they go to a new theater that’s opened and there’s Double Trouble up on stage as Flutterina doing a one-person show about their time in the war (hilariously off center of course) and the person is getting more and more excited because that’s her! She survived! My long lost friend! Then Double Trouble shifts to applause to introduce the next act. And just... every emotion at once as they stand up out of the audience and just point and scream, “YYYYYOOOOUUUUUU!”
BUT
Guess who Flutterina is similar to?
Both little precious soldiers who wanted nothing more than to contribute to the war. To help fight for the Rebellion. To be useful no matter what their size or position.
"I'm just a princess."
"I know I'm small..."
Double Trouble also recognizes the determination and the aggressive drive towards success because they work for one with similar traits!
_________
Glimmer glanced back at Flutterina who was sweating with exhaustion from walking two miles. She was a good head shorter than Glimmer and had thin bony feet much unlike She Ra's powerful sturdy ones.
She paused to let the girl approach. "Hey," she called out as Flutterina stopped for a breather, doing her best to be subtle about it.
"Queen Glimmer!" she sqeaked and stood up straight immediately.
"I want to go on ahead and check the area. You want to come along?"
Flutterina looked up at her with her giant purple eyes, unblinking. "You want me to come along with you?" she asked, disbelieving. When Glimmer nodded kindly, she flapped her wings excitedly and clapped her hands with glee while squealing, "Yes, yes, yes, of course, yes! I'd love to!"
Glimmer chuckled at the childish delight. She held out her hand and the little girl grasped it.
They teleported a mile ahead of Adora and Bow, into a rocky barren terrain. The land was deserted of life. It was only a little distance away from the main outpost and it seemed unlike the Horde to loosen its security, especially when Catra was in charge.
"Wait here," Glimmer told Flutterina and let go of her hand. The latter nodded obediently and she dissolved in a dust of sparkles. Using her powers, she rapidly checked every corner, under every boulder,
and listened intently for any whispers or murmers she could grasp from a mildly careless Horde soldier, or an escaped squeak of of bot. It was an open land. She'd been outnumbered and ambushed at once. But there wasn't a single threat in sight.
"Something isn't right," Glimmer muttered with a clenched jaw, teleporting back beside Flutterina again.
"What is the matter?" the girl asked.
Glimmer bundled up her cloak in her lap and sat down on one of the boulders. Flutterina followed, hopping up on the one right beside her.
"Adora and Bow refuse to look at the bigger picture," Glimmer began, angrily. "Of course, freeing the outposts is important, but why can't they understand that this," she gestured to the barrenhood, "is too easy and suspicious. I'm sure the Horde has something big planned. So big they're not bothered about their conquered posts anymore. I-"
She stopped when she saw Flutterina's face. It was frozen with an expression of awe and fear, her giant eyes widened in disbelief, eyebrows slightly furrowed and lips parted in amusement.
"I - I'm sorry," Glimmer said and buried her face in her hands. "I shouldn't be saying all of this. Adora, Bow and I, we're a team."
An everlasting silence later she felt a gentle tap on her arm. Glimmer peeked out of the edge of her palm and noticed Flutterina gazing up at her, proudly.
"I think you're on to something," she said, raising a determined fist with her other hand. "And I think you're the coolest and the most amazing Queen ever. The best leader the Rebellion could hope for. I say you follow your instincts, Your Majesty. Don't let your friends or She Ra question your leadership. You're the real boss!"
Glimmer looked at the little girl, now dropping her hands. She noticed her eyes twinkling with pride and determination and most of all, faith. She wanted to hug Flutterina and tell her she's the bravest and cleverer than most fighters of the Rebellion and that she was a great friend too. But the moment passed when she heard Bow's voice, calling her name.
"One last question."
Glimmer held up her fists of sparkles as defense against a leisurely sitting Double Trouble, their legs thrown over an armrest of the chair they sat on, their tail lazily smoothing along the backrest as they examined their nailed with disinterest.
"What is it, my Queen?" they said, smirking sideways at Glimmer.
"While the truth spell still works, tell me, did you mean anything you said?"
"Ooh, are we talking about a particular incident?" Double Trouble asked, dropping their hand to give their full attention to Glinmer. "I've lied a lot on the job. Been nauseating sweet and pretended to care about your petty personal problems. It was all part of my character, darling. So I should warn you, do not be disappointed of the truth."
"Back when you were Flutterina," Glimmer said, her arms shaking from holding up her fists for so long, "during your, her, first Rebellion mission to free the outposts, did you mean what you said to me?"
"Ah," Double Trouble mused, clearly remembering. They lifted their legs off the armrest and crossed them across Glimmer, sitting straight and placing their folded hands on their knee, tail frozen behind them, they said, "That was one of my truthful moments, Your Majesty. You were the only one to realize the Horde had something big planned, something bigger than a few outposts in the North. Your brilliance astounded me and I almost lost character for a second. It was all to plan to drive drive wedge between you and Adora, of course, however hat I said entailed no dishonesty, even though that's not how I would've said it. Flutterina's way was just cringy and more heartfelt, just like you Rebellion soldiers."
Glimmer dropped her fists, sparkles vanishing. Even though Double Trouble worked for Catra, she realized not only were they an excellent judge of people's characters and goals, impersonating for a livelihood, but they were also an opportunist.
"I'm going to let you in on a little truth too, as a reward for your honesty," Glimmer said, smiling coldly. "Then you'll decide who you work for."

Just in time for the summer heat! I wanted to tide my hand at paged comics. Can’t believe I ac-shoal-ly had the patience to do this, lmao. You can download this as a pdf for free on my gumroad for yoar offline viewing pleashore.
This is dedicated to @ikeracity becrabs she sent this to me, came up with the title, and the idea wouldn’t stop swimming around in my head.
if u dont acknowledge the fanfics u read, the writer won’t think anyone is actually taking the time to read their stuff, which makes our effort feel wasted and our passions feel worthless
Tell. The. Fanfic. Writers. How. You. Feel.
I will always reblog this. It’s important.
Very important.
As a fanfic writer I always get scared that people are going to be upset by my late chapters
I will always re-blog. Remember that as writers or creative’s in general we are able to improve our craft by getting feedback because it helps us to know what our audience likes and responds to so don’t feel anxiety about commenting because commenting is literally helping and you should never feel anxious about helping someone
