This Pride, donāt forget about us
you know what the most beautiful thing in the world is? girls being happy. have you ever seen a girl just being happy? iridescent. stunning. just gorgeous. keep it up
Oh no...
Do you think he'd wear it in bed? š
HE DID!!
āItās not just a role to him. He wanted, for instance, for the armour to look like it had been worn for years and years. So he made breakfast in it and he would sleep in it.ā (And this is a guy who literally played Superman.)
Cavill was method acting, but he wasnāt being mean or putting dead rats everywhere, so no one noticed.
Cavill, like the rest of us born in the ā80s, got to watch the LOTR films as a teenager and hear about Viggo Mortensen spending the night camping in his costume on location shoots and fishing for his breakfast and just generally existing as Strider... and went āOh. Thatās cool.ā
And now here he is...

AFRICAN & BLACK PHILOSOPHY: Getting Started
Hello everyone! As many of us who study philosophy in some form are likely aware, people of color, especially black philosophers, are radically underrepresented in the field (composingĀ only 1.32% of all philosophers in the US). In order to combat such marginalization, and in attempt to help amplify black voices within the field of philosophy, I have complied a series of links & information here for learning more about African/black philosophy, especially within the US. Please feel free to add to this post if you feel that anything is missing, esp if ur a black person!
Overview:
According to Wikipedia.org:Ā āAfrican philosophy is the philosophical discourse produced by indigenous Africans and their descendants, including African Americans. African philosophers may be found in the various academic fields of philosophy, such as metaphysics, epistemology, moral philosophy, and political philosophy. One particular subject that many African philosophers have written about is that on the subject of freedom and what it means to be free or to experience wholeness.ā

tfw youāre a traitor who is exiled from the fire nation after a long life of unlearning imperialist ideology and your abused nephew whoās like 15 years old is with you and youāre just trying to give him the most stable life possible while creating an environment that will allow him to heal from severe physical and mental abuse but heās also the crown prince at war with himself over his conflicting senses of duty and morality so you donāt really know how to help him live a normal life but then a girl comes into the tea shop you own that he works at and asks him out and you realize that this will be perfect to help him get a little bit of a normal experience plus she seems really sweet and hes blushing so you say yes for him and spend like 10 minutes doing his hair and then 3 hours later he comes back and slams his door and youāre worried that his first and only meaningful interaction with other normal kids his age may have gone really badly and made him feel rejected but then he opens the door back up to tell you he had a nice time and you realize heās just angsty because hes like 15 so thatās alright

reminder that this blog, while not politically focused, supports BLM. bootlickers and racists arenāt welcome here, and never will be.
all i have to say about the kataang vs zutara discourse is that katara should really have been on the avatar ancestorsā payroll for raising aang & being his surrogate mother throughout all three books. iāve said it once and iāll say it again: kataang reinforces this idea that has been sold to girls for years that romance is when a girl raises a boy as his caregiver & dedicates her life to making sure he succeeds. katara never prioritizes herself while she travels with the gaang; everything is about saving aang, teaching aang what is right from wrong and protecting aang. katara never gets to be selfish in a setting where aang is involved because she feels responsible for him. the most we see katara prioritize herself is during her conversation with zuko in ba sing se and when katara chooses not to forgive zuko immediately after he rejoins them. she is allowed to be angry/resentful/vulnerable/grateful/wistful with zuko whereas with aang, sheās consistently sidelined as a part of his destiny.
IF SOKKA LET HIS HAIR DOWN HEāD GET JUST AS MUCH HYPE AS ZUKO
Zuko: it costs $400 to go see a therapist, it costs $0 to tell myself it be like that sometimes
Aang: *softly*
Aang: no
