i got the wonderful opportunity to be matched with @sevdrag for the dbh big bang 2025 (@dbh-bb) to create art for chapter 3 of their fic "turn aside from a straight course"!!!!

she's written an amazing fic for one of my favorite rarepairs rk1100!!! (i can't resist something that ships any of the rks together JSJKSJKS) if you love markus and nines then you'll definitely love them together ahahha. sev is an incredible writer and the banter and relationship dynamics presented in this fic are so thoughtful and i love the added layer of world building she's included that presents a unique take on deviancy. each of the jericrew members have such a strong voice and i love seeing how nines works through his newfound deviancy.

my art is just a sneak peek into how markus and connor worked together to deviate nines. it pales in comparison to the vivid description sev uses to describe the whole scene so i highly recommend giving the fic a read!!!!

The things I love about this:

tHEM. ALL OF THEM. their expressions. their outfits! They all fit so perfectly what we’d been brainstorming in the group chat!! They’re so perfectly perfect.

The colors!!! The way the red dominates and then the splashes of blue that are Markus’ arm and Nines’ eyes!

The way it just captures what I had in my head for this scene so perfectly. Everyone’s surprise. Connor just not knowing what to do. Nines surprising even himself.
