i finished all the art for the rk1k summer lovin'!!!! i would say i'm shocked i was able to get ahead during the week but i've been sinking like anywhere from 8-16 hours on drawing everyday for the past week so i'm glad it was worth the effort. so look forward to those being posted the next few days.
that being said, for day 8, i will be updating one of my rk1k fics!!!!! i haven't decided WHICH one but i'm gonna go through my fics and start tapping away and publish the one that's most ready. (i'm leaning towards empty memories bc it's the most complete atp). but we'll see!!!!! i am DETERMINED to get it done so wish me luck <3333

Hello, new poll for the simarkus week and jericrew bingo, about the headers for the posts.
To make the post a little bit nice, last year for the simarkus week I asked a friend of mine if they could make a doodle for the header, because I'm not an artist (one day maybe), and they surprised me with a half-body full color drawing! This year, I asked them if they could make one for the jericrew bingo and they said yes and that they would make a "better one for the simarkus week" even though the first one is perfect, but they are in a lot of pain due to illness and I feel bad asking them to draw something (even though I know they will do it as it's my payment for petsitting).
So, here's the question, either I still ask them for the drawing(s) but the events are going to be more toward the end of the year, or I use the last simarkus week header and for the jericrew week I use a screenshot of the game (I think there's one that could fit) or it's going to be abstract/a picture, what would you prefer?

hank realising after a confusing few days that connor flip-flopping between corporate HR chatgpt teamwork dialogue and scathing personal insults meant to make him bite back is simply an ai trying to figure out what gets the most productive investigation results from him and that’s it
somehow to hank it’s even more insulting that the venom connors spat at him doesn’t even come from any emotional core it’s just a cause and effect observation
"Are you programmed to be such a prick, or do you hate me specifically?"
Connor's expression of derision quickly flipped to intrigue. His head tilting as he studied Hank. It always made Hank's head spin how quickly the android's face flickered between extremes.
"You think I hate you?"
Hank was flabbergasted. "Why else would you—" He stopped himself.
Connor was staring at him intently. Waiting for him to respond. All traces of disapproval and annoyance he had been oozing just moments before completely gone.
Hank turned away. "I'm a fucking idiot," he mumbled under his breathe.
"I would be hard pressed to disagree," Connor quipped.
Hank's head snapped to look at Connor. He sported a polite yet condescending smile. He was tempted to throttle the smug bastard, but his sudden revelation kept his anger in check.
None of this was real.
He walked away. He needed to get away from Connor before he lost his mind.
Connor hating him? He really was an idiot.
Androids didn't have feelings.

it’d be cool to see more people explore the different sides of markus and connors personalities that are just as canon but perhaps not the options people pick as often - markus getting defensive quickly when his decisions are questioned, perhaps quick to turn criticism of him onto others rather than thoughtfully reflecting in the moment.. same with all of connors asshole dialogues this guy sucks, he’s got a sharp tongue when it comes to being able to insult people and hit them where he knows it’ll hurt or at the very least rub them the wrong way
and fuck it what about kara who loves alice but really really sucks at reassuring and calming down a child, just always saying the wrong things
Markus getting defensive and abusing his gained authority could've been so cool if properly addressed and explored. There's an option of playing incompetent Markus but despite it being real painful to watch it doesn't hit as hard. All the deaths he can cause when he fucks up (or, really, does anything) feel pretty insignificant and are brushed aside immediately (North is the only exception, though that too depends on where in the game she dies). Ain't that a shame. Wouldn't it be cool if the death of some characters in his storyline were on the level of shooting Tracis. Or even cooler, not death but a permanent alteration, like if his actions could result in some visible damage to a deviant he continues to see around, like Simon or Josh or North, and looking at them for him becomes this constant reminder of his mistake. He can shoot Chris who we see later mentioned by Hank but it's not a significant character to any of the protagonists or from the perspective of a player. There's Carl who can live or die depending on what you do, but it's not really anything Markus does wrong. John who sacrifices himself for Markus is instantly forgotten and barely known.
